Climbing up the stairs, but not walking yet. That will be soon enough.
As we were driving down through Iowa on our way to visit out 2 daughters in Kansas - this came to us from Rome! Father Craig Timmerman and Fr Paul Timmerman in Rome and visiting the Little Sisters in Rome! "We are in Rome and stopped in to say Hello." Small world!
We shared that we are driving through a blizzard to get to Fort Leavenworth and that tomorrow we will be attending Little Brother David's First vows at the Cathedral in Kansas City with Archbishop Joseph Naumann presiding. We are eternally grateful to the Archbishop for inviting The Community of the Lamb to come to the U.S. in the heart of America in Kansas City, KS!
Today's Gospel from Mark is the calling of Levi/Matthew from a life of sin to an apostle and author of The Gospel of Matthew! The words of Jesus to him are now being repeated to Little Brother David!
Gospel Mk 2:13-17
Jesus went out along the sea.
All the crowd came to him and he taught them.
As he passed by, he saw Levi, son of Alphaeus,
sitting at the customs post.
Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
And he got up and followed Jesus.
While he was at table in his house,
many tax collectors and sinners sat with Jesus and his disciples;
for there were many who followed him.
Some scribes who were Pharisees saw that Jesus was eating with sinners
and tax collectors and said to his disciples,
“Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
Jesus heard this and said to them,
“Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do.
I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.”
I need to share the entire Gospel as it is all so good and so important for LB David as well as each one of us on our journeys of Faith! When Jesus says to us - "Follow me" - we get up and follow Jesus to find true happiness and Truth to set us free!
A rest stop in South Dakota with drifts half way up the doors. Without our 4 wheel drive we would have been stranded there with some truckers. This was about the worst of the storm!
We saw many trucks and cars in the ditch!
Pat was so excited to see his Maggie, and all she can talk about is "Bumpa"! We got there just in time for supper and Maggie found Bumpa's lap! Our bed was full this morning and they all looked at pictures of Tommy and the farm. "Tommy!"
Fun to see Major Joseph wearing our VCC shirt! Verly Christmas Camp was 3 weeks ago already. How time flies!
With no screens here except for an occasional family movie - the boys are deep into their games together. From Little Dave, who just turned 14 to Hector who is 4 1/2. Wonderful to see the 4 boys sharing time and imagination.
With Exodus 90 - Pat and I are now sharing the Rosary together by our wonderful fire place. A warm and peaceful gift to share together. Thank you, Lord and Lady!
Pat got his single decade Rosary from Larry the Catholic Guy. I got mine years ago from "The Rosary girl." Liz, who went around town with her daughters handing out her homemade rosaries to many in the streets! She has many stories of the peace and comfort they brought to many - Catholic or not!
My new farmcat Neumann joined us for the Rosary the night before we headed out for Kansas. Do cats pray? They certainly are interested in all that is bright and shiney. Praying together with hubby too!
My feet very warm with the Our Lady blanket my sister Cher gave me for my birthday and a cat...17 year old Mary just sent me this sweet picture of her over taking care of Dickens - now Neumann. "Dickens is looking happy." She shared. Yes, happy to have some company and some petting from one of his farmgirls!
My heart warmed by my dad's love of The Name! I am blessed each day with his Prayer of The Church- he read it morning and evening and marked messages to me. LOVE and miss you dad!
A powerful sharing by Pope Benedict XVI on Lucy's Birthday on Thursday! My mother left this daily meditations for me after reading over and over for 10 years - I am on my 4th year... he is so deep there is always something new we gain from his sharings.
Now from dad's man, Brother Victor, and a sharing by Blessed Charles De Foucald. LOVE to think about the family life of The Holy Family!
Dad thought it was great too - "Which a beautiful soul makes life sweet for others..."
A great book given out free for Christmas and for the Eucharistic Revival in our Church. Truly beautiful and inspiring!
Love this special message from Let them live! Yes, we are anti- abortion, but so much more uplifting to concentrate on the positive. How did life in the womb ever become so despised and hated? I cannot understand the taking of life in the womb and how those that survive late term abortions are left to die!?! Lord and Lady, help us!
Bumpa with his Maggie looking at pictures of Tommy and Gina - the two that are her age and in her group. They are all 2 now together!
8 years ago when Ruth and Paul remodeled our farm house and we traded places. How we love to have our farm family on the farm! Ruth and Paul have over and over does remodeling and not only have the vision, but also do a lot of the work!
Such an important prayer that fills us with peace, love and hope not to mention great JOY! Lord and Lady, we thank and praise you for the gift of prayer together for our domestic Church/family! Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barbara and the 33 plus many little Sisters and Little Brothers. So exctied for tomorrow and the time with our Community of the Lamb

Danielle Rose amazes!
