As I was throwing a load of clothes on the line at 6:30a... the rising sun seemed to enter the new brilliant green leaves on this small tree and hold the sunlight within each one so that they glowed like emeralds! My feet got soaked in the wet grass as I walked from the clothesline where a fat robin sat in the branch of the tree overhead and seemed to revel in finally being surrounded by the green of new leaves also!
I didn't know that a robin's song could be so beautiful in the sunlight and the new green leaves... with each article of clothing I put on the line- all of them John's after his few days at home with us helping on the farm and giving mom a loving mother's day for all the days he was home... I would say a "Hail Mary" asking for good news today in Rochester, and from one mother to another - Trust and ability to love and accept all as it comes.
"Vain the stone, the watch, the seal; Halleluia!
Christ has burst the gates of hell; Halleluia!
Death in vain forbids his rise; Halleluia!
Christ has opened Paradise; Halleluia!
Lives again our glorious King; Halleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Halleluia!
Dying once, he all doth save; Halleluia!
Where thy victory,O grave? Halleluia!
Soar we now where Christ has led; Halleluia!
Following our exalted Head; Halleluia!
Made like him, like him we rise; Halleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies; Halleluia!"
Opening hymn for evening prayer sung to the tune of Christ the Lord is risen today
