There is something so beautiful and special about the walking away look of the little sisters of the Lamb in their wonderful sky blue habits and scarf tied and trailing down their backs. I think that it is a wonderful sight to behold and to see Hallel with the french bread under her arm... the long loaves of hard chewy bread that is cut and a part of every meal - breakfast, lunch or supper! I just bought a loaf of french bread for the first time since we left France, and had some for breakfast toasted with butter and cinammon sugar on top... and while eating a salad in Perkins after setting up for a big TEC gala in New Ulm - Pat's cell phone rang and it was Susan! She was calling us from France! She was looking for her sister's phone number, but we took advantage to get some sharing in... we discovered that she will be going to Rome for a week with their foundress - Little Sister Marie! Archbishop Dolan from the US will be ordained a cardinal next week and the super American of the Community is to be there! How exciting as Hallel went to St Thomas with his neice Erin, and that is why she wanted to call Maria in an attempt to get ahold of her about the amazing occassion in Rome! Once again I forsee that Hallel will be the spiritual butterfly in Rome - running into people that she knows on each street corner!
It is so fun to see her in Saint Pierre and how much she loves it there. Today we asked her if she will be returning home to Kansas City soon, and we did not get a positive responce. Instead she informed us that she is now to go to Rome for a week. Last time she went there for a short visit it turned into a month or more! How she loves Rome too! I think given the choice that she would choose Rome. I am sorely missing her, but am thrilled at her adventures and the beauty of her life of freedom to follow wherever He may lead or call as she follows in obedience. Jesus, we trust in you.
