Mary crushing the snake/St Maximilian Kolbe finds Mary deep in his heart to help him say "Yes!"/ "Dad the Gospel today is about you and mom."- marriage is for LIFE!

My early morning hour with Jesus usually starts here.  After a couple weeks missing the flowers... I brought along my flowers for my Mary, the Mother of heaven and earth!  I found this precious single rose that another had brought to honor her.

So appropriate to begin here today also as we are celebrating the feast day of the martyr/priest/devotee to Mary, St Maximilian Kolbe!  Following his Queen to heaven - St Maximilian stood in for a father and husband, who had been chosen to die by starvation in Auschwitz, and was the last to die by lethal injection today - the Vigil of the Assumption of Mary to heaven!  He learned from her to say "Yes!" to the ultimate Sacrifice!
How I hate snakes!  Every time I encounter one in the grass... I am terrified to see them wriggling in my lawn or garden.  Such a powerful image of evil and deceit for us.  To see this beautiful woman that I love so much, and look to, and pray to without ceasing, crushing him...gives me JOY and fills me with gratitude and peace!

There is so much these days all around me on both sides of me - liberal and misled!  I am filled with such overwhelming sadness at the deception that Satan is laughing about and the cultures of death and hate of The Church  which are coming at me from both sides!  Our Lady is there crushing the head of Satan, and I am given the courage to join her in her battle against the Evil One!

This happened yesterday!  My dad played a couple games of Casino with Big Dave!  It is so special to see my dad perk up when there is a great-grand here with some time to play some card games with him!  How wonderful will this memory be for Dave!  Talk about a super sharp 95 year old!

There can be a lonely feeling as I hold fast to the Truth which is laid out for me through Jesus and His Bride, The Church!  There was fellowship found with both of my parents seeing eye to eye on everything with me!  Mom has been gone now for 5 months, and dad lives here with me and our work is prayer of The Church, rosary and chaplet and prayers for our huge family of 140+!  Mom is very much with us in prayer, and we ask her to intercede for us from heaven daily.
"Dave this will be a very special memory for you to have!"  Dave also sat side by side with Pat's mother cutting corn off the ear a few years back when she too was on hospice.  She was on hospice almost 2 years and the way things are going with my father... we continue to have a good long time here together on the farm!

How I appreciate that dad and I have no issues in how we look at things... placing Jesus first in our lives and His wonderful beloved Church, which my father brought our family of 13 into 49 years ago, and each day since has been a pearl of great price, and our cup overflows with so much each day filled with Jesus in His Word, Body, and Blood, His Mother Mary, Queen of heaven and earth, All the Angels and Saints and our beloved dead now united with mom!  Our heavenly !

So special to see my dad so sharp and happy to be taking on Dave- they each won a hand!  Dad always tells the kids that he wants to see them beat him, so it was fun for Dave to do that!

As we prayed together this morning - doing the morning prayer of The Church prayed by priests, deacons, nuns and religious in monasteries and convents throughout the world - so powerful!  I pointed out to dad that the Gospel read throughout the world in all Catholic Churches from Matthew 19 was about dad and mom!  It is about marriage being for LIFE and theirs lasted 70 years!  We are a couple weeks away from what would have been their 71st Anniversary on August 30th!

The Gospel today...
He said in reply, “Have you not read that from the beginning
the Creator made them male and female and said,
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?

So they are no longer two, but one flesh.
Therefore, what God has joined together, man must not separate.” Matthew 19
Smiles all around!  My dad is all business too.

I love this quote from St Maximilian Kolbe - "So that she herself may love God with our hearts."
Mary using our hearts to love her Son and the Father with our hearts!   That is super LOVE!

8 years ago Maria with her 2 oldest and pregnant with amazing Patrick!  So many blessings today as we wish Maria a happy 37th birthday!  She has not only welcomed Patrick, but also Romeo, Evangeline, and Hector!

Patrick's First Communion a month back!

Lovely family picture that shows their loving smiling faces!  They will be here in a little over a week!  Bring on the amazing family time on the farm - we will miss and our Little Sister Hallel, but 28 of the 30 will be amazing for us!  Then adding my dad - perfection indeed!

Lord, how we are needing you to make us strong and faithful this day.  We are weak and need you to fill us with your LIGHT/LOVE/LIFE.  Come Holy Spirit and dwell in us if only we die to self so that you may live in us!  May we be your arms and legs this day and share your Truth and Gospel.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah

Opened our first of the 95 quarts already for lunch for dad... how he loves our soup!
Mary's flowers decorated our romantic supper on the porch just hours before I took them to give her the honor and glory.  Beans from the garden, and tomatoes too!  Bless-bless, Barbara
