"precisely because Mary is with God and in God, she is very close to each of us..." Pope Benedict XVI/Mary brings me peace in the midst of the storm

Fridays I am given the gift of praying for one of our priests in adoration.  I am praying now for a good friend, who was the TEC administrator up until the last few years for our diocese.  Pat and I made our TEC 20 years ago just a few months apart, and each of our 5 children had gone before us and Susan and John after us.  Yes, we are a TEC family!

When I pray on Friday I prefer the beauty and silence of our Church and find Jesus there in the tabernacle waiting for me to come and adore and pray with Fr Denny on my heart.  Yesterday Our Lady of Guadalupe beckoned me with some stunning white roses to honor her with LOVE and devotion.  My prayer for Fr included the office of readings for the day including a wonderful meditation by St Maximilian Kolbe, whose feast day was yesterday.

Perfect beauty to show a deep place of LOVE for Our Lady!  Today is the Solemnity of The Assumption of Mary into heaven... the first reading from Revelations is so similar to Our Lady of Guadalupe's appearance...

God’s temple in heaven was opened,
and the ark of his covenant could be seen in the temple.

A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun,
with the moon under her feet,
and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth.  Rev 11

Our Lady of Guadalupe is a symbol for LIFE as she is wearing a black tie around her waist and that symbolizes that she is with child!

At the feet of her Son on the Cross...
How these words of Pope Benedict describe how I do feel that Mary is very close to me on this journey of LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
"precisely because Mary is with God and in God, she is very close to each one of us.   While she lived on this earth she could only be close to a few people.  Being in God, who is actually within all of us, Mary shares in this closeness of God."

She allows us to come closer to God, as she brings us to Him and to HIs Son, and her Son, Jesus Christ!
Getting some flowers ready to take to the grave of Maximilian on his feast day yesterday.  Nancy and Bill's stillborn son is buried here in the infant loss part of our Catholic Cemetery and on the way to pray for Fr Denny I stopped there to pray.
Nancy and Bill gave me this statue from Fatima a few months after they lost Max... they were pregnant with Catherine while there, and lost her a short time after they return.  A hard time for them for sure!

Mary on the stone represents a very powerful experience Nancy had meeting Mary in her suffering of losing her son.  It was also very powerful to see yesterday - knowing how much St Maximilian was devoted to Mary- so meaningful indeed!

It is hard to concentrate on my thoughts as I have a house full of kids in the jacuzzi tub.  I do love my quiet house to write after my dad and I have prayed, had breakfast, and he is ready for the day and in his chair resting.  My quiet time is not to be today, so I think that I should call this to an end.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, Queen of heaven and earth and the jacuzzi filled with lively grandkids on a Saturday morning the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary into heaven.

Bill bought her home for me, when he traveled to Mexico and visited her Shrine!  Yes, Bill and Nancy love Mary and have gifted me with precious gifts of her!
Swimsuits come to grandma's house for tub time.
I will call this done for today... I am in the midst of the storms of life with the sounds of happy children all around me - the storm called kids make lots of noise just being kids playing and talking and laughing and living their young happy lives.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara
