The Cross - this is how one LOVES!/Tom starting to stand/"death on a cross. Because of this, God greatly exalted him..." Phil 2 - +JMJ+

Tom has had a cross to bear since Labor Day Monday.  He is such an example of taking it one day at a time and being cheerful and loving and sweet for this old grandma!  Embracing his Cross and not counting the cost.
Sharing farm fresh eggs from our free range chickens with his grandpa after snuggling together.
In my dad's lift chair - great grandpa Deacon Robert Cross - Thomas Robert's namesake.

The last couple days we have been able to come over to grandma's home for the first time!  We are both very happy about it.  Tom even crawled around the circle.
He also bounced on my bed on his knees!  It is so special to see how he is slowly doing more with each new day. Usually with a smile on his face.  Such a lesson on how to make the best of the pain and suffering that come our way.
Yesterday was the Exultation of the Cross, which is there for each of us to take forward down the narrow path with our goal of heaven forever.  The Crucifix on the rosary over our bed which was made from rosebuds and in Pat's dad's coffin when he died in 1996.  It is now dried roses, and very special to us!
A crucifix that is from my parents, who both died in 2020 just 7 months apart after celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary in 2019!
Contemplating the Cross and Jesus..."death on a cross. Because of this, God greatly exalted him..." Phil 2   Nothing more powerful than Phil 2!  Every word is a pearl of great price and Truth!
I always am moved to recall the story of when Maria entered the Poor Clares on New Years Day 2004.  She had left a small sign on the wall next to the crucifix in her 15 year old brother, John's room.  "This is how one loves."  Truth!!!
My prayer for sweet Tom and each of our 23 grandchildren is that they may always hold the Cross close to them and realize that this is truly how we are called to LOVE!  Embrace our Most Cherished Cross and find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 33 plus many Little Sisters and Little Brothers
