The Biggest Cross Christmas Camp(CCC) Gift! John G. coming into The Church! Luke's Gospel - John the Baptist foretold by an angel - +JMJ+

15 years ago we had a snowy winter, and this is a great picture to begin with today of Ruth's 3 oldest reacting to blowing snow as they are pulled by the sled.  The baby is David and he was 15 in July.  Mary is now 17 and Simon just turned 19.
13 years ago - 2 year old David looking a lot like his baby brother, Tom, who just turned 2 on November 19th.  David is at CCC - Cross Christmas Camp with a baby Jesus we would always have in a manger for the kids to adore.

I had someone ask me what CCC was and I need to explain... my maiden name was Barbara Cross and I am the oldest of 11 children.  My parents were both living until 2020 when they died just 7 months apart after being married for 70 years!  My sister, Mary, was dying from cancer, so we started a family Christmas weekend the weekend before Christmas, and that means that we have gathered for 38 years.  We call is Cross Christmas Camp - CCC!

Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The story of my sister, Mary.

Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The amazing story of the 13 becoming Catholic!

Our family has this amazing Spiritual journey we all shared 52 years ago when we all came into The Catholic Church!  My father was a Protestant Minister all my growing up years, and we were baptized in the Holy Spirit when I was about 16.  When we moved to Minneapolis we looked for a prayer group and found one at the Cenacle Convent in Wayzata, MN!  Charismatic nuns!  Their prayers and example along with my parents attending a Ignatian retreat where the Holy Spirit spoke to my dad from Isaiah 55:1-2 - Isaiah 55:1-2 New International Version Invitation to the Thirsty 55 “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. 2 Why spend money on what is not bread...

The Holy Spirit told my dad to come into The Church with his family!  Each day since has been a Pearl of Great Price!

My sister Paula's daughter, Liz, and her husband, John.
At CCC this year we were blessed with the news that our niece's husband, John Ginapp, is in RCIA and will be entering The Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil!  My son, John, just is so excited as are we all!!
John with his 2 daughters, Raegan and Phoebe.  Our John is Godfather for Raegan.  John shared that his daughters is the reason behind him taking this step.  "My kids are going through Faith Formation, and I wanted to be an example for them, showing that God is important, and I wanted to be a father figure and be the example."

So wonderful!  There are fake plans flying around to be at St Joseph Church in New Hope for John at the Easter Vigil on March 30th when he is coming into The Catholic Church!  I have no doubt that our John will be there!

John and Liz happy and excited as they begin the journey of a lifetime following Jesus down the narrow path.
John at CCC with his oldest, Jude.  He could not stop rejoicing with John at this big step he is taking in his Faith journey.  John's story of coming to his faith through brain cancer after a half-hearted prayer for Faith...

Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: John's cancer stories

His Spirit Juice video continues with wife and now 3 wonderful children.  I was sharing today about how John was told he probably would never have children and now 3!  "They gave them to some good parents." Someone said.  Yes!

Our John knows about praying for Faith and how the Lord answered him and now his special friend, John!

I got pretty choked up today with these two Johns on my heart with so much thankfulness and then to hear the Gospel proclaimed at mass this morning about the announcing of the birth of John the Baptist!

But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zechariah,
because your prayer has been heard.
Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son,
and you shall name him John.
And you will have joy and gladness,
and many will rejoice at his birth,
for he will be great in the sight of the Lord.
He will drink neither wine nor strong drink.
He will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from his mother's womb,
and he will turn many of the children of Israel
to the Lord their God.
He will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah
to turn the hearts of fathers toward children
and the disobedient to the understanding of the righteous,
to prepare a people fit for the Lord."  Luke 1

It is so important for kids to have a good strong father of Faith!  The words of the Angel this morning - "He will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah
to turn the hearts of fathers toward children
and the disobedient to the understanding of the righteous,
to prepare a people fit for the Lord." Luke 1
John with his 2 oldest kids- Lucy was home sick with mom.
Another great young father of 5 with whom we shared CCC with after he went to get him degree in Electrical Engineering in Arizona a few days before!  Sam Cross, who took 8 1/2 years to get his degree while he worked and went to class at night!  A man of strong faith and JOY!  We love you, Sam and are very proud of this accomplishment.
Beautiful sunrise this morning after coming home from mass.

A good example of what John is doing for himself and his family.  There is a wonderful chance that my sister, Paula, who is his sponsor, will also grow in her love and knowledge of The Catholic Church!
Oh this is absolute wonder and awe!  Please end the horror of abortion and may lives in the womb be loved and cherished and protected no matter the cost!  LIFE is the greatest gift!  Jesus came to us in a helpless baby!

John in the back row of our family picture - 45 plus the 16 that came to share part of our time, but missed the picture = 61 and close to the half of our Cross Extended family of 140!
Can't get enough!  Knowing that my parents are rejoicing with us in heaven and that they are always praying for us on our journeys!
