Twenty years ago... celebrating my birthday with the only presents that I want.... my precious kids! I had just had a 5 month loss, so they were pretty precious to me, and that continues to this day! How I love to be with all of them! If that could happen... that would be the only gift I would want for Christmas! Nothing else could hold a candle to that for me! Now with ls Hallel in France and Maria and her family in Texas... to have them all with me is not a possibility! The last time I had all my kids with me was when John's cancer brought all of us together two years ago. Susan/Hallel came home for a week at Thanksgiving and even then there was some back and forth, and Ruth was working in Marshall while we had Thanksgiving in the Cities. All were around John when he had his brain surgery, and that support was of the utmost importance! He is always aware of the LOVE and PRAYERS of his sisters for him.... even if they are in France and Texas.
The gift of being home with my kids for 14 years... we shared all that our life on the farm could offer. It was truly a gift!
Yes, I also liked to sew for the girls... now they say that they didn't appreciate it, but I sure had fun and after the first one... the rest were a lot easier to make. I made the blouses and hair bows too... I am big on accessories. I have so many people from church tell me that they always watched us at church..."All those girls with bows in their hair, and then you had that boy!" There was almost a standing ovation when we walked into church with that baby boy in a blue blanket!
Then we had that baby boy! How we were thrilled and happy and filled with wonder and gratitude to Our Lord and His Lady Mother!
