Easter Glow

We have what has become a family tradition since I started sharing my conversion story in RCIA many years ago... Since I had gotten to know those joining the Church, I wanted to come and support them at the Easter Vigil.  Through this doorway our family discovered the wonder of the Vigil.  It is filled with so much in the candles, the water, the scripture rich in powerful reminders of all that The Lord does for us, the sacraments and the great JOY of those entering The Church being welcomed.

So... although our family is now filled with little ones, and two new ones on the way... we got in our Easter clothes and headed in for a very long service that didn't even start until 8pm.  And...
just as the sun was setting in the West...
Looking our Easter Best...

We gathered in the Church as the darkness descended - lit by candles held and shared with those too little to hold them alone...
Grandpa offered to help with the usually very active, Bernadette... she did wonderfully through the almost 2 hours!
The LIGHT entered the world... Hallelujah!
All those little ones!  I think that people thought we were nuts to bring 7 kids under 9 to this late and long Easter Vigil mass, but they all did amazing.  Ruth said that she will bring Rose every year -"She was the best she has ever been at Church!"  I am considering it a Easter miracle.  And I know all the people sitting around us were smiling when we reached the end with all the kids doing wonderfully!

How are these for two little angels?  Rose will be 2 for about a month - the same age with Augustine and then he will turn 3.  They are starting to enjoy each others' company.  They sure are adorable together!
Easter boy!!!  He looks like Jesus dwells in his heart, and he does!
Part of the beautiful arrangement - Easter beauty!
The three granddaughters were a beautiful sight to behold!
David slept through mass, so after waking up he was ready for the celebratory meal after which has also become a family tradition.  Luke found his sister's hair, and pulled it.
Nancy and Bill look relieved that we made it through the Vigil without any meltdowns.
Out to watch a gate while Pat fed the cows - All seemed so wonderfully bright and glorious on this Easter morn!  The iris leaves green with LIFE coming forth with Our Lady looking out with peace and Joy on the world bathed in His saving LIGHT/LOVE/LIFE!
 Feeding grandpa a peep...
Baby kitty snuggle in the midst of a crazy Easter Egg hunt.
A rare sharing moment for the two girls
 Baby chick in the sunshine!
Easter breakfast with empty tombs and a baby chick comes for a visit...
Ruth and Paul's beautiful porch was wonderful to share two meals today - a perfect day for family gathering to celebrate!  "He is risen indeed!!!"
Perfect day for an outside hunt - the little ones found some too!
 Bernadette celebrates!!!!
The best!!!

The official proclamation!

I think that is a sign that there were too many candies - when they become "beans" to be loaded and hauled by the famer boys.
It looks like a bumper crop...
A movie of the boys at work... they mean business.
Grilling Easter dinner while the roof goes on the playhouse for Ruth and Paul's kids.
Checking out the playhouse - looking good on a perfect day!
Soon there will be a railing around the porch and windows and a door!  Super special place for a lot of memories to share growing up in the country.
 A few more...

The porch of their house of childhood memories... soon a railing will adorn it.  Jesus, thank you for a wonderful Easter filled with the glorious glow of your LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!  Jesus, we are filled with your Truth- God's not dead!  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Amen and Hallelujah
