"Hosanna to the Son of David;
blessed is he who comes
in the name of the Lord,
the King of Israel.
Hosanna in the highest." Mt 21:9
As I write this today I am listening to Scott Hahn speak about The Last Supper... I am so tied to him in his excitement for The Church! We are both converts or reverts back to the True Church. Scott, of course, is much more knowledgeable about the Word's sharing the Truth from the Scriptures. I am now sitting at his feet learning the ways the Word comes to LIFE in our amazing Church!
http://www.salvationhistory.com/audio-resources/the_fourth_cup - I would invite you too to learn from this man of God, whose looking to understand Christ in His Word was led into the True Church!
Psalm 113 - the little Hallel Psalm - Scott just talked about the Passover meal and this psalm was used as part of this most important Passover liturgy. Now he is talking about the Great Hallel - Psalm 136 - also part of the Passover meal. Jesus Kingdom is the manifestation of Mercy and of Love according to the Gospel of John, who stood at the foot of the Cross with Mary. Standing before Pilate is when Jesus talks about his kingdom more than any other. At the 6th hour the Lamb was to be slain - the same time that Christ was sent to be crucified. Jesus is not just the victim -the Lamb - he also is the priest. Unblemished Passover Lamb - must not have any broken bones as ordered by God in Exodus - so too Christ of the 3 crucified that day was the only one to not have any broken bones! He truly is the Lamb of God!
How I am lifted up knowing the great work that happened in the lives of both Scott and myself - bringing us into the Church to be fed day after day by the Truth and all the graces and blessings that come to us from Christ and His Bride, The Church! "It is finished!" He deliberately interrupted the 4th cup in the old Passover meal to take the wine on the Cross when it was lifted to his lips - He had changed it into the new Covenant of His Blood. He took the bread and said this is my body and then took the cup and said this is my blood - the sacrifice begins during the Passover. The 4th cup the cup of consummation - the wine given to him on the hyssop branch on the Cross was the final cup! John 6:52-56 " My flesh is food indeed!" A year or two before his crucifixion at the Passover, He spoke these words to us. You had to eat the Lamb!!!! This goes for us as followers today!
Luke holds onto grandpa's palm branch - his first Palm Sunday out of the womb... Last year he was in the womb.
I Cor 10:16 " The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?"
I am filled to the brim with great JOY at the words of Scott Hahn - "That was Jesus Christ, My Lord and my Lamb. I fell head over heals in love with the Holy Sacrament of the Christ in the Eucharist." "We receive the glorified body of Christ." Scott Hahn about his first week of covertly attending mass and discovering the Truth!
Paul and his kids were learning to serve after rolls this morning - even little Luke is watching his family serve joyfully together. "Who do we love more God or gold?" "We are receiving more than 10 million dollars when we receive Christ in the Eucharist. We need to know what we are receiving in Jesus in His Body and Blood! We wish to enveloped in your LOVE!" Scott Hahn
I had a wonderful friend at our TEC weekend share with me how much she loves to see our extended family joyfully sharing mass together. So very blessed but may we never take Your Body and Blood for granted, Lord Jesus!
Lord Jesus, I am brought to tears by the excitement of this great vessel of yours, Scott Hahn. How his love of Your Word brought him fully and excitedly into Your Church. Not only that but to instruct all those that have grown cold and lifeless and left The Church. May they once again find the eyes of Faith to see and LIVE the Truth which will fill them with the knowledge and LOVE of You, my sinless Lamb of God! Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah
Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
Psalm 113
1 Praise the Lord.[a]
Praise the Lord, you his servants;
praise the name of the Lord.
2 Let the name of the Lord be praised,
both now and forevermore.
3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the Lord is to be praised.
praise the name of the Lord.
2 Let the name of the Lord be praised,
both now and forevermore.
3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the Lord is to be praised.
4 The Lord is exalted over all the nations,
his glory above the heavens.
5 Who is like the Lord our God,
the One who sits enthroned on high,
6 who stoops down to look
on the heavens and the earth?
his glory above the heavens.
5 Who is like the Lord our God,
the One who sits enthroned on high,
6 who stoops down to look
on the heavens and the earth?
7 He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap;
8 he seats them with princes,
with the princes of his people.
9 He settles the childless woman in her home
as a happy mother of children.
and lifts the needy from the ash heap;
8 he seats them with princes,
with the princes of his people.
9 He settles the childless woman in her home
as a happy mother of children.
Praise the Lord.
We know YOU are the KING - Alive and at work in our lives! May we meditate on your Passion in this next week and realize we are to be always humble and give without counting the cost as The Lamb.
