Just the cows and me starting this first Sunday of Lent

A blurry motion picture as John rubs the new calf the other day... our first calf born this calving season is now laying next to his mother for warmth on this frigid Sunday morning.  As I look over my left shoulder I see the barn camera going back and forth scanning the 30 some cows locked up in the calving barn close to having their calf.  All is quiet this morning, but soon the calves will be coming many a day and night.  Some cows will need help from farmer Pat and Paul, but hopefully most will come naturally.  Prayers for calving are often and frequent these days.  There is always the Faith element of LIFE around here!
On our knees in the corn stalk bale bedding....respecting and serving new life.  There is very much a feeling of awe to know that this cow grew this calf up to 70 pounds and even some closer to 100 in just the time that a human can grow a baby up to 7 pounds!  All LIFE is a powerful reminder that God is so amazing and mysterious and we certainly cannot understand how God creates life and certainly it is all done out of LOVE beyond all telling!  Today Jesus in the Gospel tells the world "This is the time of fulfillment.  The Kingdom of God is at hand.  Repent and believe in the Gospel."  Mark 1:12-13  How do we know this to be true?  By witnessing all the signs of LOVE/LIFE/LIGHT that leave us amazed and in awe, and by realizing that the fingerprint of God is upon us and the lives we live!  LIFE is the greatest of gifts - given to us out of pure LOVE for us and so that we can carry that forth into our domestic Church/family and bring LIGHT into the darkness of sin and death!

Sharing our life here on the farm and our Faith with great JOY with the next generation!

Jesus, go with me today as I serve those in the nursing home.  May I share your LOVE with all those I come in contact with.  Thank you for all the ways we witness your Kingdom of God... the Word that is Christ among us, Jesus in His Body and Blood, New LIFE, Sharing our Faith, the Saints, Your Mother, Mary Most Holy and The Mother of God with great JOY, and all the sacraments which bring LIFE and Healing into our lives, and the prayer which fills our days - the rosary and others!  We have so much to bring us to a place of the Kingdom/a small slice of heaven here on earth!  WE thank and praise you and desire to die more to self so that you may live in us!  Jesus, may we follow after you carrying our Most Cherished Cross.  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Amen and Hallelujah

getting spring fever much?  Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
