It has been so wonderful to be here with them for the next 2 days. Mom has just graduated from physical therapy today and got glowing reports from the therapist at how wonderful she is doing for 90. Dad is now being interviewed by the activity gal for what he likes to do, and sharing his profession with her as an ordained clergy as a permanent Deacon in the Catholic Church.
We think that Hallel breathed a sigh of relief when we drove away about 1p after sharing a small slice of heaven with mass.
We love Jesus in the Word! This is huge for Hallel and her Community of the Lamb. It was a huge part of Hallel hearing the call to enter this specific order as they begin the night before chewing the
Gospel.
Today's Gospel was very much convicting with our material world and the great wealth we deal with as farmers caring for the land and feeding the world.
Then he told them a parable.
"There was a rich man whose land produced a bountiful harvest.
He asked himself, 'What shall I do,
for I do not have space to store my harvest?'
And he said, 'This is what I shall do:
I shall tear down my barns and build larger ones.
There I shall store all my grain and other goods
and I shall say to myself, "Now as for you,
you have so many good things stored up for many years,
rest, eat, drink, be merry!"'
But God said to him,
'You fool, this night your life will be demanded of you;
and the things you have prepared, to whom will they belong?'
Thus will it be for the one who stores up treasure for himself
but is not rich in what matters to God."
Luke 12
Where is my treasure, O Lord?
Time alone in the chapel with the beautiful with the special flowers for Mary and Jesus... the icon of Jesus eating the chin of his mother as he loves her so much... I see this in my girls and their babies over the years!
So glorious to be back with our family of the Lamb! How we love to share mass and adoration with them. The singing of angels is all around us and fills me with such deep JOY! I found myself bursting into tears when I was sandwiched between the Community led by Hallel singing so powerfully and splendidly The Gloria at mass yesterday and Nancy on the other side of me with her kids joining in! It was heavenly and truly expressed my heartfelt LOVE for Jesus and His Bride, the Church!
Breakfast on our last morning with Hallel! Pancakes are so special to us as we have a family story of sending Krusties to Hallel after she mentioned in a rare letter that they had pancakes but they weren't Krusties… mailed a large bag at great expense for Easter, and then 4 months later cooked them every morning for John, Nancy and I at Saint Pierre for Hallel's taking of the habit!
Bowl of coffee in the morning has come to us through our time with the French Community... makes me smile and feel at home! Pancakes so special in my heart and memories of our early years with The Community and John's brain cancer battle!
The kids cleaned their plates! Pancakes are a hit and a gift!
Hallel translating the homily from French was very impressive! She has mastered French and Italian, and that is so wonderful! Horizons are broadened for her.
Bernadette watching her Aunt Hallel bringing up the Bread to become Jesus in the Eucharist! So special to see St Agnes looking on - She holds the Lamb and her name means lamb!
Agnes is Hallel's confirmation Saint - she fell in love with her when she visited Rome while Maria was studying there! Agnes shows us how to come out of being put into a house of prostitution unharmed in any way as we are this day and age by the internet and all that evil just being a mouseclick away! St Agnes, Pray for us!
Lunch with my parents was so nice! They seem so content here and it gives me so much happiness to be sharing this precious time with the two of them. The table by the window where they sit when it is just the two of them! LOVE it!
" It was wonderful to eat with you, and not have to make the meal first as it has been for the last couple months." I feel very lucky and spoiled!
Went to get the mail with dad and his wheel walker to carry all their mail! It is nap time here, so I think I will join in. I know it is very hard to spend this peaceful time with my parents... I am one lucky girl!
Jesus, how we long to put you first and foremost in our lives and all else is small and poor. We want to give our all to you and die to self so that you may live in us! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
Precious time with baby George, who is 8 months old now in KC!Happy to be home this morning in Delano! We navigated our way home without rain to deal with thank fully. Pat reported that it rained about 4a this morning, so they had to stop ripping the bean ground. We only saw 2 farmers combining corn on our 8 hours on the road. It is a very late fall and we pray for the farmers and their harvest which lies ahead. Bless-bless, farmwife Barb missing her hubby and farm family!
My parents in their new home! LOVE to be here with them!
