My travel companions from over 3 years ago... the baby now is George and Josephine is 3 1/2 now.  Nancy will be in the passenger seat caring for her 5 kids and I will be driving us to KC tomorrow!

I am getting excited to be spending time with the 2nd and 4th daughter together in Lumen Christi Monastery in the heart of Kansas City, Kansas!  Nancy has looked ahead and says that the weather there will be beautiful unlike the cold wind here.  Unless there is a need by some needy family that comes up... we will be staying with them and sharing in Hallel's life of prayer and dishes!

I will be cleaning out my garden this morning, so this needs to be short.  Our time with The Community of the Lamb could involve them going out "on mission".  Their foundress, Little Sister Marie, felt led to beg for their food from the poor!  "how can this be?"  she asked the Lord.  She was led to I Kings 17 - Elijah and the Widow!

Elijah and the Widow at Zarephath

⁷ Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. ⁸ Then the word of the Lord came to him: ⁹ “Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.” ¹⁰ So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, “Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?” ¹¹ As she was going to get it, he called, “And bring me, please, a piece of bread.”

¹² “As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.”

¹³ Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. ¹⁴ For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.’”

¹⁵ She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. ¹⁶ For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord spoken by Elijah.

The first time David met his aunt, Little Sister Hallel, and The Community shortly after Patrick was healed 7 years ago... Hallel asked Little Dave - "Do you know who I am?"  "No, but you look like my mom."

The Psalm 19 today from mass speaks about carrying His message to the ends of the world.  When the Little Sisters and brothers go begging for their food from the poor.  There are times when all they can give them is a glass of water.   As they meet these people that answer the doors of the poor neighborhoods they share Jesus with them!  Each day they start the night before chewing the Gospel and taking it in to their hearts, minds and souls.  They then share "the message" of LOVE/LIGHT/LIFE with them and take their prayer requests to lift up during mass and Adoration each day!
Not a word nor a discourse
whose voice is not heard;
Through all the earth their voice resounds,

We will be praying in the Grotto for the many needs we have!

We are very much praying for Bill and his family as his sister just discovered that she has cancer.  Amy will be lifted up in the Grotto and in our prayers without ceasing!

Hallel is Godmother to Therese!  So many prayers are wonderful to have indeed!

Jesus, how we love you and ask that you go with us as we carry your message with us here there and everywhere.  How we long to love and serve you better with each new day.  May we die to self so that you may live in us better and more completely.  "Wounded, I will never cease to love."  Jesus, we trust in you.  St Teresa of Avila, pray for us.  Bless-bless, Barb

Evangeline and Hallel got close. Hallel has lived close to Nancy and kids, so I am sure she will be excited to see them!  Family time is the best and there can be no pricetag for having time together!
