My sister arrived with two boxes from dad's assisted living! St Ignatius joined him for a special breakfast of waffles to celebrate his 44th anniversary of his Ordination as a Permanent Deacon in the Catholic Church on April 25th, 1976... Such an honor to share this big day with my father on this Feast of St Mark!
From I Peter 5 in the first reading today...
The God of all grace
who called you ...
As we prayed the rosary together on our porch as the neighbor was planting corn, dad spoke of St Joseph and how he was in tune to the Holy Spirit leading him. So true of my father, too, who led us on a most amazing Spiritual Journey!

Hector joined his 3 older brothers in their room! He is one, walking and now moved into the big boy room! Wow! "Our first night as an all-boys room was a success! He is in with the crazies now!" How his big brothers love him and he is such a sweet boy!
Praying the office/morning prayer together with St Ignatius looking on. Dad and I find this to be a special blessing to share together to begin our days together!
Surrounded more and more with the beauty of our Faith and family! Mom's painting just arrived with my sister along with the icon of St Ignatius, who led us into The Church 49 years ago! How we share our LOVE for Jesus and His Bride, The Church!
A family lunch!
Psalm 89 from mass today of St Mark!
Alleluia.
Blessed the people who know the joyful shout;
in the light of your countenance, O LORD, they walk.
At your name they rejoice all the day,
and through your justice they are exalted.
R. For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.
How we love to share The Word together and the prayer of The Church! What a joyful shout indeed!
Happy Anniversary dad! We decided that he officiated at my wedding the first of my siblings! He administered The Sacrament of Matrimony to Pat and I just 2 years after he was ordained, he baptized our 5 children, he came and prayed over the grave of our 2 sons in the cemetery here in Marshall after we lost them at 20 weeks, he and mother brought the relic of Solanus Casey to pray over John in the midst of his brain cancer battle, he has blessed me with praying together when I spent time with them over these last years.
Dad listened to the Holy Spirit and led us into The Church!
Much to celebrate!!!
My sister, Carol, is the youngest and I the oldest with 10 between us. We are 13 years apart! She loves our homemade food and that is why we do the work!
Buds coming forth!
Grandpa and grandson, Alex, playing cards - dad taught him and is so sharp. He does more and more that amazes me!
Lord, thank you for this time with my father! May I die to self so that you may live. St Mark pray for us and may we joyfully shout the Truth to all those in our domestic church! Amen and Hallelujah. Bless-bless, Barb
