There are some concerns for me with my dad today that is making me anxious, and in a constant state of prayer. Our Lady of Fatima's feast today is joining with me in my constant prayers for things to work out. Things have been fairly smooth, but I guess we need to be pruned today to bear more fruit as we are reminded by the Gospel today of the Vine and the Branches in John 15.
We are reminded today on this feast of Fatima of the Peace Plan that Mary gave us at Fatima of saying the rosary each day, and Adoration, and frequent mass. Dad and I have been saying our daily rosary at about 3p each day followed by the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. It is the wind beneath our wings!
I do miss my time with them but due to the pandemic and my father here on hospice... I am not going to see her much right away. All of us are suffering with the separation we have to face with sheltering at home. An 95 year old man on hospice and a newborn baby girl are both in need of keeping safe, hence her aunts and uncles and cousins will have to wait to meet her.
Dad would give Mary a kiss each morning when he would turn up the heat behind her in the bookcase where she stood.
As dad read the Gospel today... we rejoiced to find that we have entered John 15 - the Vine and the Branches. It did ring a major bell in me at the promise that the painful pruning, as we are called to embrace our Most Cherished Cross and follow after Jesus down the narrow path, the suffering that comes with our dying to self and serving without counting the cost allows us hopefully to bear more fruit in our lives. Yes, we do that service with less than perfectness, but He is there with us giving us the courage and strength to go forward as we carry/drag our Cross and stumble down the narrow path... with heaven forever awaiting us at the end!
Jesus, with your Mother at your side, how the heavens are rejoicing this day at the feast of Our Lady of Fatima and how she appeared to the 3 humble poor children and begged us to pray the rosary daily, and adore you in your humble form of bread/your Body! May our prayers bring many to find and love you in our huge family. Jesus we are yours, and we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah

He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit,
and everyone that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit.
You are already pruned because of the word that I spoke to you.
