Out with Pat to check the pastures and cows and calves in the sun yesterday. I was struck by the psalms that have filled so much of my life now praying with both hubby and father through out the days... coming to life for me here in the life I live in the country on the farm.
Even Psalm 16 today
You will show me the path to life,
fullness of joys in your presence,
the delights at your right hand forever.
R. Keep me safe, O God; you are my hope.
We follow a path through the pasture with green grass aplenty and healthy cows and claves frisking around and nursing, and a creek of cold fresh water for them to drink out of.
Pat marvels at the work of the water making a crooked winding way through the pastures. Surrounded by nature it never grows taken for granted and often we marvel at how nature is in control and we must give in to Mother Nature - we have no control over the weather we are given with each new year.
This year we are thankful for an early spring, and nice gentle rains after the crop was in the ground, and now the sun with the heat we need for the crops to grow and yield a hundred fold!
So beautiful to behold sitting behind my Most Cherished Cross on the 4 wheeler.
The temps were in the 80s with the solar heat, so the shady areas were popular when we went out there after lunch.
Yes, we have to cross over the creek, but not too deep to get our feet wet like some years.
It is a special time for my father to now be here for 6 weeks living on the farm! We appreciate his interest, his prayers, and how sharp he continues to be!
Eggs, rhubarb and purple wild flowers by our red barn in need of a paint job this summer!
Morning prayer shared with my dad today was full of references of The Holy Spirit coming upon His Church, and dad spoke about how we are brought together in the unity of the Holy Spirit by looking to the Holy Father as our head - the going forth of Christ as he built His Church upon the rock/St Peter and each Pope carries that forth!
These words really ring this truth! Psalm prayer after Psalm 87 in morning prayer of The Church!
"Lord God, your only Son wept over ancient Jerusalem, soon to be destroyed for its lack of faith. He established the new Jerusalem firmly upon rock and made it the mother of the faithful. Make us rejoice in your Church, and grant that all people may be reborn into the freedom of your Spirit."
Dad and I rejoiced yesterday when we found dad's Blessed Solanus Casey relic. He found it stuck in his check book for safe keeping after he took it to the hospital to pray over mother on her death bed! He was with us all the time, but is sure is wonderful to see him how safely with St Ignatius!
So very happy to have this man of miracles in healing and with us powerfully in our journey with John of finding Faith through brain cancer! He is a dear friend and very much in our crowd of witnesses and communion of The Saints!
More from Psalm 16 today
Keep me, O God, for in you I take refuge;
I say to the LORD, “My Lord are you.”
O LORD, my allotted portion and my cup,
you it is who hold fast my lot.
R. Keep me safe, O God; you are my hope.

Our Lady of Guadalupe with us also... dad often looks at her as he prays her prayer - the rosary prayer which we share each day at 3p
Yesterday we returned to our praying together in the porch in the warm spring day! Birds joined us in our rejoicing and heart felt prayers!
Dad deeply praying for our huge family of 140+!
He was cute saying that he hasn't danced in a very long time when we read this in prayer today...
“These are her children,”
and while they dance they will sing: *
“In you all find their home.”
Psalm 87
Yes, dad, but we do dance in our hearts, and often while we are praying we sing crazily the "Alleluias" most especially... which are plentiful these days and truly are a dance in our heart, minds and souls!
Mary, Joseph, and Jesus join us in prayer! How we love to have them with us and so beautifully present with us! In truth they truly are, and I appreciate that dad felt that his statues should be "with me." Yes!
Praying the "Lord, keep me upright."
Today Blessed Solanus Casey joined us for the first time! It felt more complete and peaceful to have him there with us!
Jesus, we love your Church with all our hearts, minds and souls and love to share in prayer together dancing in our hearts with so much Joy at the LOVE you pour down upon us. May we return that love to all those around us most especially those in our domestic Church/family, of which my father has become very much a minute by minute part of that Domestic Church for me now. May I always be patient, kind and loving and forgiving as you are with me, O Lord! the love with which you loved me
may be in them and I in them.” John 17 from the Gospel today tells us how we can love in this selfless way... by dying to self and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in our lives in every way! "Wounded, I will never cease to love!" Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
It has been 6 weeks and we take each day as it comes. He remains alert and fairly comfortable. Our high points of each day are praying together, and it is the wind beneath my wings! Thank you, Lord, for this special time with my father as we have hospice there with us each step of the way. Bless-bless, Barbara

and the truth will set you free. - John 8:32
"The Blessed Sacrament is God.
Devotion to the Blessed Sacrament
is simply divine worship.
is simply divine worship.
Turn it which way we will,
throw the light of love and knowledge
throw the light of love and knowledge
now on one side of it, now on another,
still the result is the same,
still the result is the same,
the one inexhaustible sweet fact
of the Real Presence.
of the Real Presence.
In the hands of the priest,
behind the crystal of the monstrance,
behind the crystal of the monstrance,
on the tongue of the communicant,
now, and for a thousand times,
now, and for a thousand times,
and almost at our will and pleasure,
there are the Hands and Feet,
there are the Hands and Feet,
the Eyes and Mouth,
the swift Blood and living Heart of Him
the swift Blood and living Heart of Him
whom Thomas touched and Magdalen was fain to touch,
the Soul that ... set the prisoners free."

TODAY: Day 7
Novena to the Holy Spirit
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful,
Novena to the Holy Spirit
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful,
and enkindle in them the fire of Your love.
Send forth Your Spirit, and they shall be created,
And You shall renew the face of the earth.
And You shall renew the face of the earth.
O God, Who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts
of Your faithful, grant that by that same Holy Spirit,
we may be truly wise and ever rejoice
in His consolation, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
