The Pat and Barb Verly family and their 5 children, in laws and grandkids along with many prayer warriors have been drawn together by John's cancer... sharing daily for 8 months started this blog- Family Soul Story - Our faith, family, farm and now our cancer journey called HEALING have colored and deepened our world. WE continue to share and depend on the support of our prayer warrior community, that has lowered us into the Lord's presence for His healing!
15 hours on the road with St Agnes, Our Lady of the Rosary, Harper Lee's - To Kill a Mockingbird, Brother Victor and dad's LOVE!
Love this special picture for this feast day of amazing St Agnes! She happens to be Susan/Hallel's patron saint that she picked while visiting her sister, Maria, in Rome. After visiting many churches and many saints she chose St Agnes to be the one! I have learned through her love for St Agnes to appreciate this young woman, who was put into a house of prostitution to break her down and damage her... she left there untouched as the only man that tried to touch her was struck blind!
When we pray to her for all those that have been put in a house of prostitution in this world where it is only a mouse click away. That we too may be protected and untouched by the evil all around us! St Agnes, pray for us!
We are a day down the road towards our daughter in Washington. We left home at 5:30a and now are in our hotel after close to 15 hours on the road and the last few hours in the dark and in snow in Montana. We started the day with morning prayer and St Agnes was with us!
Some fun pictures of my paper Hallel with her Little Sisters! She actually asked for some to have some fun saying that she is in Kansas City. Here I thought that I was humbling her, but she is laughing too.
Her friend Edmund misses her, too!
Pat took the scenic route with lots of wheat fields, hay, and cows and not much else. He loved it and we added to that prayer for some big needs among our families for those that are suffering from cancer and the treatment for cancer. Our rosary brings us close to our Spiritual mother and she cares about all our needs and brings them to her Son! Jesus, loves his mother and listens to her.
Pat behind the wheel for the entire time! Up at 4a for Adoration and we than packed up and have been driving ever since!
My dad today had a lot of input from morning prayer- how my brother and I love to see his marking up his prayer books after being a deacon for 44 years!
Lots of LOVE in Psalm 80 today
Also Isaiah 12
And Psalm 81 - lots of love to go around and for The Church!
Pretty impressed as we drove across the Mighty Missouri river on both sides!
Pat loves to get out and see the country, and we saw a lot today as we shared and prayed and even were entertained by Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird! We like to get books on CD from the library to make the time fly by!
An attempt at a selfie with the Mighty Mo!
A dusting of snow on some strange land formations kept the trip interesting with lots of black cows and round bales.
Now to bed with prayers for LIFE tomorrow as we go to the following day to read the readings for the day - A day for the legal protection of unborn children! So many prayers especially with the new president! Lord, end the horror of abortion. May life be protected and cherished from conception to natural death. Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barbara and Pat on the road again.
