"I am wounded by love"/"Wounded, I will never cease to love"/Jesus "perfect through suffering" heals and cleanses us/A final Thanksgiving meal in the shop!

Maria with their 6 going on 7 head out for the Cities and their plane back home.  Our gathering has officially ended.

Reading dad's prayer book from week 1 of Ordinary time this morning... the words from dad and St Basil the Great struck a cord with me... "I am wounded by love."  As an old woman, who as Maria said am called to "being a nun" on the inside... the constant noise and activity around me gets hard.  Also when they are gone for months at a time... that is an empty space of painful loss also.  LOVE carries with it the cross which wounds us in many ways, yet this motto of our Community of the Lamb also rings true and powerfully in our hearts - "Wounded, I will never cease to love!"

Our last meal - Bumpa made the eggs from our chickens.

The Lamb shows us that by dying to self which allows us to serve without counting the cost... we are given so much LOVE/LIFE/LIGHT if only we embrace our Most Cherished Cross and carry/drag it down the narrow path with heaven forever with Jesus, Mary and the Saints, and Angels and all our family members gone ahead of us as our goal and burning desire!

Our final meal last evening in the heated shop was appropriately a Thanksgiving meal Ruth and I pulled together using our home grown chickens instead of turkey!   Pat shared a special prayer before we ate with much to be thankful for including our health, safety and strengthened relationships for both young and old!  Thank you, Lord!

There were scooters, nerf wars, balloon swords and hearts, and ice cream floats for dessert.  We covered all of the traditions we love so much from our beloved CCC - Cross Christmas Camp!  Our new VCC was wonderful in every way!
8 month old Birdie has officially entered the top knot stage of her young life - she got to hang out with her Aunt Maria, who will be having a baby girl to be her playmate on June 1st!  Exciting times are ahead for our family as we welcome our grandchild #20!
Cookie decorating happened and was so yummy and fun for all!!!  Thanks, Bobbi!
Breakfast this morning was our final meal... there are fake plans flying around of Pat and I doing a road trip out there to bring them our canning and meat.  Also maybe heading to KC this weekend for an overnight to bring one of our 6 families tomato soup and applesauce.

Hallel called me yesterday looking for a package from mom -"I need dental floss, mom."  How I love when I can be a mom and care for her needs in France... socks and toothbrushes will probably join the bundle.  Hallel was also very sweet to remind me of something my father shared with the Community on a Zoom meeting in May - "Grandpa shared with us about JOY"

It will be on my wall today along with the family picture we all took in Church - Hallel will have to be added!

My dad's teaching to the Little Sisters including Hallel in May - "The letters in the word Joy teach us how we are to approach our life - Jesus first, Others second, and you 3rd.  I was taught this by my Bishop in South Dakota, Bishop Dudley."

LOVE this so very much!  I knew that I wanted to take our dressed up for mass picture - all 29 of us in the back of church after mass on Sunday!  I love to have Jesus in the tabernacle and on the cross as well as the stunning beauty of our beautiful church, which all our children were baptized in and attended mass here every Sunday from their birth!  Our HOME and where we are fed each week with Jesus in Body, Blood and Word!

Hector and Jude now looking back with George... than there is precious Birdie in the arms of Big Dave and Rose Again!

Nice, but the Church wins for me!  This will be cherished also!  My topknot is in front of Pat's face!
A first for Santa comes late for our VCC in January!
So long till next time... we hope that this year will be more free and our tradition can continue.

Santa brought the shirts - thank you!
The words from morning prayer pointed out by my father today call me to pray for the journey my parents are on together to reach Jesus and Mary and the Saints!  Sirach is a beautiful reading today - thanks, dad!
St Basil the great and dad...
Red underlined and marked in the margin to draw my eyes and heart to this promise today from St Basil the great - "I will try to fan into flame the spark of divine love that is hidden within you, as far as I am able through the power of the Holy Spirit."  So much help coming my way from heaven!  I am overwhelmed by His unconditional LOVE and forgiveness!
A bit closer and so powerful!
YES!!!!
How can I be so blessed and lucky to have this wonderful help with each day of my journey?
Dad writes - "Divine Paradox" by these words from Job in midafternoon reading.  Much relating back to the Cross we are asked to take up each day of our journey to heaven forever!
Now Brother Victor-Antoine quoting Blessed Charles de Foucald - this thrills me as Hallel and her community also has a big love for Blessed Charles!
LOVE how Blessed Charles brings us to this very holy place of Jesus constantly outpouring his love to his Father in adoration!
Finally the daily meditation book of my mother - it is by Pope Benedict XVI and mom went through it daily for the last 10 years of her life.  Today was very special and am sharing it here for those that are interested in the pearls I am given my mom each day, too!
Face painting ended our time last night!  We shared lots of laughter.  Joy and Grandpa were good sports, but grandma not so much.  I did plenty of laughing at them however.
Rose is the artist and all the grandkids were gathered around to have fun at grandpa's expense.

Grandpa loves them all...
Helping Jude decorate cookies - so sweet and yummy and pretty!
Birdie with a frosting mustache.
George and Birdie fill his arms - he will miss them a lot!  He goes in to get a hug from Joy every morning on the farm, and we see Jude and Birdie every Sunday at mass where grandpa helps out holding them.
John as Eucharistic minister, and Big Dave, Mary and Simon assisting on the altar - we filled up 4 rows with family as all 29 of us attended mass together to mark the end of Christmas Season with the Feast of The Baptism of Jesus!  Fr Denny officiated and adds to our JOY!
So happy to be back at mass each week!
Sharing Jesus as a family!

"Our Lord knew well that we were too weak to walk
courageously along the road of life that is often very difficult.
So His prophet who saw from afar all the treasures
hidden in the Church of Jesus Christ said,
"Thou hast prepared a table before me,
against them that afflict me" (Psalm 23:5).

The food of this table is Jesus Christ Himself,
His Divine Flesh, His precious Blood.
It is He who prepares the feast and invites us to it."

St Madeleine Sophie Barat

Maria was so excited about our first family Christmas on the farm!  She planned and it all fell into place so beautifully!  We are so filled with warm memories and renewed Faith/Family/Farm shared!  Thank you, Lord!  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 30!

Even Hallel joined us in picture form!  One picture I won't have to add her in!
When she called me from France yesterday - I had to let her know that she joined us in the Christmas tree.  LOVE!
Maria's oldest and youngest til June 1st!
I now have this reminder of the truth that Hallel is keeping us in her prayers in my bedroom in my branch with lights that stays there for the year!  We are certainly held close to her heart in prayer!  How we love that and find strength to go forward - "I can do this!"
Absolute TRUTH!  Thanks mom and dad for bringing us into The Church 49 years ago!  I am blessed each new day!
