At 7p tonight Pat and I along with John and Bobbi and their two littles will be at the All Souls day mass for those that have died in the last year. My dad will be remembered as he lived here for the last 6 months of his life and was a member of our church for the time he lived here on the farm.
I can’t get over this miraculous gift! In the midst of a pandemic... dad brought his 10 children together! Dad is smiling the most of all! Standing in the Sonshine!
8 years ago baby Luke is loved by his family, and was born on All Saints day 2013.
Some pictures of the birthday boy over the years... Farmboy Luke with dad in the tractor.
He is my original namesake - Luke as I chose St Luke for my patron saint when I came into The Church as a 20 year old with my parents and 10 younger siblings 50 years ago! Yes, I was recently 70!!!!

Why St Luke? I was in nursing school and he is a physician and he shared the beauty of Our Lady, Mary Queen of heaven and earth in his Gospel not to mention The Prodigal Son and the Good Samaritan! He also wrote the Acts of The Apostles where we see the wonder and work of the early Church including the conversion of St Paul! So many reasons to love St Luke and as it turns out his sign is the bull/ox and that is where I ended up - a farm wife for 43 years!
Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The amazing story of the 13 becoming Catholic!
A memory from 6 years ago of John with Godson, David, and mom Verly, who was on hospice and only lived another couple months. She is now one of the dead that we pray for on their journey to heaven forever with Jesus, Mary and all the angels and Saints!
In Father's homily last night he mentioned the Saints that we recognize and have faces that we know and look up to..."There are even more that are nameless and we do not have a face for them, but they are praying for us and at the feet of Jesus too - they are members of The Communion of Saints as we all hope and need to be someday!"
The red tractor fender out the kitchen window as I had a lunch guest...
Leaves from my parents' grave and a couple of saints to join us for lunch and sharing prayers and healing!
St Isadore the farmer saint, St Maximilian Kolbe and Blessed Solanus Casey relic that was brought for John's healing and other times since for those that we pray for.
How we love the saints and know that we are called to be a saint too! Those hard trials are part of our turning to Him and becoming more and more His! Dying to self so that Jesus may live in us and use us to change the world with His LIGHT and Truth!
The Communion of Saints joined us and fill us with HOPE!
Losing both of my parents in the last year.. adding in my children and grandchildren in heaven, and a sister along with Pat's parents and brother, Don. There are many that keep our eyes focused on heaven and longing to be together there someday! It truly is a gift to have so many that we hold in our hearts and pray for them as well as for us to meet them someday there.
I found this so powerful... "purgatory is a time of the time of preparation for the wedding of the Lamb."
Dad today in morning prayer - how he longed for his time to come and join Jesus in heaven. HE was very ready at 95 and 6 months on hospice here in our farm monastery. It was such a gift to share the beauty of hospice with him that allowed him to peacefully walk into the sunset of his life through a natural death!
A good reminder from dad as to how we are to live out our days of loving and serving our Lord without counting the cost!

A year ago praying on the porch with Solanus and dad... How we loved to share morning and evening prayer each day as well as our chaplet and rosary on the porch at 3p!
Such powerful readings today that fill us with HOPE for our dead and for us to join them in heaven forever!
For if we have grown into union with him through a death like his,
we shall also be united with him in the resurrection.
We know that our old self was crucified with him,
so that our sinful body might be done away with,
that we might no longer be in slavery to sin.
For a dead person has been absolved from sin.
If, then, we have died with Christ,
we believe that we shall also live with him.
We know that Christ, raised from the dead, dies no more;
death no longer has power over him. Romans 6

Dad's funeral mass was on Halloween last year. It is going to be wonderful to share mass with those that have lost loved ones over this last year and honor my wonderful father and pray for his soul on the way to heaven! Deacon Robert Cross!!!!
Rose with the family - first and middle name as dad would pray for us each Monday! Even just 3 days before he died he did the litany of FAMILY! No doubt his prayers continue for us more perfectly for us now from heaven!

Jesus, we love you and long to be with you always. May we die to self so that you may live in us and we may love and serve those around us without counting the cost. "Wounded, I will never cease to love." Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
Excited for pictures of this All Souls Mass this evening with Pat, John, Bobbi, Jude and Birdie.

Our view as we prayed - dad would love to look over at Hwy 59 and comment on the big white trucks going down the road while we prayed together. He watched an entire growing season from here! I get very emotional when I sit out there now with rosary in hand. I know he is joining me in prayer! Bless-bless, Barbara
