Tossing and turning with anxiety as I am on my own today at the nursing home! I must remember the words of my friend Fr Jeremy that I saw there the last time I worked..."Just love them, Barb...Just love them." I can get excited about that and just hope and PRAY that all the things I am responsible for does not get in the way... BE with me Lord! Help me to love them even in the midst of all the rest that I need to do for them. Give me the wisdom and the strength!
Not much time to share today so my eye caught an envelope that Maria gave me when she returned home from the monastery... It contains an ongoing letter type journal of her experience there as well as many prayers... I would like to share a couple if I have time. Firstly one called Peace in Suffering...
"Father, sometimes I think physical pain is less hard to bear than mental suffering. A toothache or a broken leg is at least in one place. But anxiety or tension, indecision or guilt are everywhere at once.... and nowhere. When Jesus said; "Not My will but yours be done." did his pain go away? I don't think so. But I do believe that You made it possible for Him to bear it. Do for me, Father, whatever it was You did for Him. As I try to imitate His fidelity to Your will may I experience your peace.... The peace that, somehow, can exist in the midst of great suffering. Amen"
From Blessed Teresa of Calcutta
"The fruit of silence is PRAYER
The fruit of prayer is FAITH
The fruit of faith is LOVE
The fruit of love is SERVICE
Ther fruit of service is PEACE."
Jesus we need you as we face all that comes along with these lives... help us to love in spite of distractions along the way and suffering that comes with the challanges in our families and our lives of service as we follow you. Amen and Halleluia! Bless-bless, Barb
I just had a mother- dear friend share with me that her amazing teen age daughter reads this blog. I am thrilled at the thought of young people are joining me! What a wonderful blessing! Thank you Lord!
