Up early due to a call to come and serve at the Nursing Home today... I need some energy to get my engine going... found this randomly in my prayer book, and thought that it would be a prayer for all of us as we face the day ahead... It is very powerful to be shared with a church full of people, after just having received the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist!
"Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me."
"Within thy wounds hide me.
Suffer me not to be separated from thee.
From the malicious enemy defend me.
In the hour of death call me
and bid me come unto thee,
with all thy saints I may praise thee
for ever and ever. Amen."

Dear Lord,
How grandpa loves to have his grandkids all around him! Thank you for a wonderful day together for Pat's birthday yesterday, and bless him and us in the year ahead... Thank you for your unrelenting presence with us as we faced the horror of John's cancer, and the echoes of your Love for us, and your beautiful sacraments that are there to minister to our every need. I go forward today filled with JOY at the wonder of how you are totally in control of my life, and the devil and all his empty promises can flee into hell! Use me to your honor and glory. Jesus, we trust in you! Amen and Halleluia
