"So send us, Lord, to speak of Christ with life and voice!"

What a joy it was to have a special shower for little Gus over the weekend at Ruth's beautiful home!  We enjoyed the wonderful weather outside on their porch, and were entertained so much by all the babies!  There were two set of twins there... along with Gus and all were boys!  These two identical boys were "finding" each other with smiles and touches!
Jack and Owen were filled with smiles for one and all!  It was such a great party, and we give the credit to the littlest guests!  They filled us with wonder and joy, and they are truly the gifts that came to bless us each with what really matters in this life... new life!

The guest of honor had many cousins in attendance, and they were happy to be there on such a glorious day in September!  All the adults came away from the afternoon feeling that adult parties are overrated... bring the kids and let them entertain and be in charge of the games too!

5 year old Mary had us doing baby things... sucking on bottles and tasting the baby food... that we have fed our kids.  Thankfully... I just fed my kids table food that I ground up in a baby grinder.

We realized that sucking on a bottle is hard work!

So with armfulls of babies to give us joy... we enjoyed a showering down of FAMILY JOY!  From now on we will mail the invites to the little ones and ask their moms and aunts to bring them... then stand back and be entertained and blessed by their presence here in this beautiful world.  Beautiful because of their being here to show us how to love and live close to HIM!

Today is the feast day of St John Chrysostom...  He was a great preacher of God's Word to small and great alike.  The small ones seem to be able to see Him, and listen to Him with hearts that are open, and not weighted down by the cares and distractions of the world... how we need to learn from the little ones!  We can look to them to learn how to be happy with the little things and to "do small things with great love."  Blessed Teresa of Calcutta

This 3 year old cousin, David, has such a deep love for his little 3 month old cousin, Augustino... he wants to comfort him and love him and hug him and kiss him... and baby Gus senses that love and responds to it with smiles...  When we are sad or down or we see others that are hurting... we need to comfort them, show our love for them by touch and by prayer.  Learn from the little ones!

Jesus with your loving Mother at your side - interceding for us and showing us how to embrace family - life and love.  We are asked by you on the cross to bring your Mother into our homes, and what a difference her Spiritual Motherhood would make in our homes!  We are asked to be open to life, and those children that come to us truly reveal to us the beauty of life and the love that comes with it!  Now as grandma... the blessings continue!  For my daughters and their families and their desire for LIFE and LOVE!  Bless them as they seek to follow you and to have you foremost in their homes!  Jesus, we trust in you!  Amen and Halleluia!

Bless-bless, Barb
"Give ear, O heavens, while I speak;
let the earth hearken to the words of my mouth!
May my instructions soak in like the rain,
and my discourse permeate like the dew,
like a downpour upon the grass,
like a shower upon the crops:
For I will sing the Lord's renown.
Oh, proclaim the greatness of our God!
The Rock - how faultless are his deeds,
how right all his ways!
A faithful God, without deceit.
how just and upright he is!"
Canticle from Deuteronomy 32: 1-4
St John Chrysostom pray for us!

Thank you, Godmother Raterra, for all your wonderful food and hard work to make it a wonderful party!
