What a joy it was to have a special shower for little Gus over the weekend at Ruth's beautiful home! We enjoyed the wonderful weather outside on their porch, and were entertained so much by all the babies! There were two set of twins there... along with Gus and all were boys! These two identical boys were "finding" each other with smiles and touches!
The guest of honor had many cousins in attendance, and they were happy to be there on such a glorious day in September! All the adults came away from the afternoon feeling that adult parties are overrated... bring the kids and let them entertain and be in charge of the games too!
5 year old Mary had us doing baby things... sucking on bottles and tasting the baby food... that we have fed our kids. Thankfully... I just fed my kids table food that I ground up in a baby grinder.
We realized that sucking on a bottle is hard work!
This 3 year old cousin, David, has such a deep love for his little 3 month old cousin, Augustino... he wants to comfort him and love him and hug him and kiss him... and baby Gus senses that love and responds to it with smiles... When we are sad or down or we see others that are hurting... we need to comfort them, show our love for them by touch and by prayer. Learn from the little ones!
Bless-bless, Barb
"Give ear, O heavens, while I speak;
let the earth hearken to the words of my mouth!
May my instructions soak in like the rain,
and my discourse permeate like the dew,
like a downpour upon the grass,
like a shower upon the crops:
For I will sing the Lord's renown.
Oh, proclaim the greatness of our God!
The Rock - how faultless are his deeds,
how right all his ways!
A faithful God, without deceit.
how just and upright he is!"
Canticle from Deuteronomy 32: 1-4
St John Chrysostom pray for us!
Thank you, Godmother Raterra, for all your wonderful food and hard work to make it a wonderful party!
