The name of Mary...

Baby Gus didn't like the unfamiliar surroundings of the hay bale castle... Mary looked a bit unsure of what to do, even with the kind help of her brother Dave... there were many moments of caring and sharing this last few days.  Today is the feast day of the Holy Name of Mary...  The Hail Mary -"this prayer names the holy name of the Mother of God" brought to a dry and barren world the Fruit of Life.  It will cause the Word of God to take root in the soul and bring forth Jesus."  St Louis de Montfort
Playing on the hayrack at sunset...I just got an email with an enclosed meditation by a Protestant minister about Mary standing at the foot of the cross.  I found it very interesting to read what he would say about her there and the words that Jesus spoke to her.  I was disappointed by it... it so simplified and discounted her power at the right hand of her Son, Jesus Christ.

The pastor said that when he gave his mother to John and she to him... that he was telling her to let go of him as her son and now take her as her Savior... "On the cross, the blood is draining from His body, His life is ebbing away. The old order is passing and the relationship between Mary and our Lord is changing. As Mary stood near the cross, her heart must have been crying out, "My son, my son, my son..." And Jesus is saying, "No. You must no longer think of Me as your son. From now on, John is to take that place in your life. Regard him as your son." How is she to regard Jesus? As her Savior and Lord..."  Pastor Colin S. Smith in lifeKEYS

This discounts so very much that the Catholic Church has spent centuries studying and diving into... the fact that the womb through which Christ entered the world had to be stainless and without sin!  The fact that Mary had to be pure and chosen among women... her litany just resonates within me...Holy Mary,

She was given to us as our Spiritual Mother at the foot of the Cross!  How sad when you overlook that and simply say that she changed from the Mother of God to the mother of John the disciple!  We need to all take her into our homes and give our love and devotion to her as her own Son does... taking her body and soul into heaven to stand as Queen of Heaven and Earth at his side in Heaven!  I love her in all of my being, and fill each moment of my day with heartfelt prayers to her interceding for all those in my life!

Jesus with your Queen Mother at your side, thank you for all the blessings we receive from your Holy Family.  May our families reflect your Truth, Joy and Wisdom!  Jesus, we trust in you!  Amen and Halleluia!

Bless-bless, Barb
"Hail Mary, Full of Grace.
Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen."
