The wind blows - The Spirit

Our last meal with the Community and our daughter, Hallel, we asked to step outside and get some pictures with all of our Family of the Lamb.  Just then the garbage truck came down the street to collect the many bags and barrels that lined the street after a Holy Week and Easter celebration the trash was much more.  Hallel went out to the street to offer to help, but they smilingly refused.  Probably liability and all.  I am sure that they men were surprised by the offer, and the sight of the women dressed in blue habits out admiring the tulips and the green grass and visible to all the world and their neighbors.  They shared that people ask them why they aren't satisfied with just living in a older building and why they had to fundraise and build a new "little monaster - Lumen Christi/Light of Christ.  "We know that this is necessary for our little life and it brings a sense of pride and lifts up the poor neighborhoods we live in."  They have been told that they have eased fears and been a "lighthouse on the hill."
Three grandkids just arrived and so I am not able to really concentrate on this... I have many pictures added and they might tell the story better than my words of how wonderful our family of the Lamb shares with the world the Holy Spirit at work in this world.  They listened to the call and said "yes" and now they are showing the world the beauty of poverty and depending on divine providence.
Little Sister Lucie is demonstrating how the cross would look here on the hill... It would be a symbol of our salvation for all the neighborhood/the world to see!
the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.(John 3:7-15) - Jesus to us today in the Gospel sharing LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT gained through the Cross in our lives!
Red tulips represent The Holy Spirit this day...  The wind is always with us here on the prairie... I was just out helping Pat with the tub grinder, and his comment was "here comes the wind again."  The wind blows his ground hay into the next county, so he is always trying to find a window between winds from one direction or the other.  It is hard to find around here!  So when today Jesus talks about the wind - it is familiar and seems to be just a matter of life on the prairie.  How we pray that The Holy Spirit can equally be at work in our lives and we know not what we will be called upon to do from one day to the next or moment to the next... a call to chase a cow in that is out of the yard, to help fix something under stress and pressure of the wind coming up, a sick grandchild that unexpectedly comes in the door, a desperate call from work... on and on and we are called to be willing with a "Yes."
A sight which gladdens the heart - The Community of the Lamb in the heart of our country and sharing their LIGHT - Light of Christ on the hill in Kansas City, Kansas in a poor neighborhood  and just 7 hours from our door to theirs!  JOY and HOPE and LOVE and LIFE and LIGHT - the fruits of the Holy Spirit alive and well and touching the world of darkness!
Like I said a lot of garbage!
On our way to visit the Little Brothers - they too have been invited to come to Kansas City and are in the midst of building a Little Monastery!
Looking at the land they will build on.

Spring is ahead of us in KC!

The model of The Little Monastery soon to be built with the grace of God and generosity of Americans!
 Flowering crab outside...
 Walking up to Lumen Christi!
Their love for their life and Jesus shows in how much beauty they have around them and the time they spend making it always beautiful!
The spotless Lamb died on the Cross to bring LIGHT into the world now and always!

Jesus, may the winds that come from the East, West, North and South be welcomed with a "yes" as we serve you through those in our domestic Church/family without counting the cost!  Christianity is a person, a person lifted up on the cross.  A person who emptied himself to save us.  He took on sin.... One cannot understand Christianity without understanding this profound humiliation of the Son of God, who humbled himself and made himself a servant unto death on the cross.  Pope Francis  May we go forth as Christians - giving as we have been given to without counting the cost.  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Amen and Hallelujah
Bless-bless, Barbara Luke

This really comes to life with The Community and their vows of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience lived out...
Surrounded and supported by her loving family!  We are very enriched by their lives and example to the world that if we say "yes" to His call to love we are richly blessed with graces to face all that comes filled with His Holy Spirit!
