My dad as a permanent deacon in The Church is asked to pray with his spouse each morning and evening. Such a gift! As Pat and I were coming home from picking up a part by the Cities and a meeting on the way home... we shared how our prayer life has improved thanks to our involvement in Together Encounter Christ retreats we have attended and been involved in since 1999. Prayer became real and we embraced sharing it more and more in our marriage and have seen the fruits of making Christ foremost in our lives and our marriage.
Sharing prayer as a couple has become one of the most important part of our days morning and night. Jesus in His Word is shared starting the night before and then again after sharing morning prayer. The many times that we read it together makes it come alive and The Spirit highlights some words or phrases or ideas that come to us. This day the man full of leprosy in Luke 5 speaks to me of the impossible struggles that I face in myself - my uncleanness that it seems is too horrible for Jesus to touch. Yet, He reaches out without hesitation and touches me with these words of comfort and unconditional LOVE and forgiveness - "I do will it. Be made clean."
It happened that there was a man full of leprosy in one of the towns where Jesus was;
and when he saw Jesus,
he fell prostrate, pleaded with him, and said,
“Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.”
Jesus stretched out his hand, touched him, and said,
“I do will it. Be made clean.”
And the leprosy left him immediately...
Luke 5
And this is the testimony:
God gave us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son.
Whoever possesses the Son has life;
I John 5 from the first reading also assures us that with Faith in Him and giving our lives over to Jesus/He is in control in the midst of the storms of our lives and when all seems impossible. We can rest in peace knowing that we will have eternal LIFE in heaven forever with Jesus, Mary, the Saints and Angels! How we long to die to self so that The Spirit may use us and we may love and serve without counting the cost!
Jesus, be with me as I travel today. Be with the farm that I am leaving behind and my Most Cherished Cross. Thank you for the LOVE you pour upon us and may we return that to those around us/most especially those closest to us in our domestic Church/family. May we find JOY in this day and praise you always for all that you give us! An Hallel Psalm today of highest PRAISE!!! Psalm 147!
Glorify the LORD, O Jerusalem;
praise your God, O Zion.
For he has strengthened the bars of your gates;
he has blessed your children within you.

Listening to Christian music on the travels with hubby - this is so wonderful and True!
My chapel on wheels will have beads and prayers to Mary the Queen of heaven and earth, Christian music and prayers for each of the kids and families, my husband, Godchildren, my family, Pat's family and my beloved Church! 10 decades which certainly do fill me with peace and JOY! A chaplet of Divine Mercy for all those dying today, have no one to pray for them as they long for heaven, and my own dead. Bless-bless, Barb
