I am awaiting an update from KC on our 5 baby chicks now a week in their new home.
When Pat and I did morning prayer today to start our day with the readings - Reading Acts 5 about the angel releasing the Apostles in the middle of the night from the public jail and then sending them to the temple to preach and teach...
But during the night, the angel of the Lord opened the doors of the prison,
led them out, and said,
“Go and take your place in the temple area,
and tell the people everything about this life.”
When they heard this,
they went to the temple early in the morning and taught... Acts 5
I love this! How I love to share "everything about this LIFE!" Everything that the Lord has done for me and all the ways that he has touched my life from The Holy Spirit to my parents bringing us into The Church 50 years ago, to discerning religious life and then finding my calling to marriage - now into our 43rd year with 5 children here - lights to the world, and 7 in heaven praying for us on this journey called Faith/Family/Farm!
Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The amazing story of the 13 becoming Catholic!
Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: Our marriage stories - "The world needs LIGHTS!"
He comes to us joyfully and gladly. …
What has already begun through other kinds of prayer is now brought to fulfillment at Mass. God and humanity become one in a strange and incredible mystery that only a lover like God could conceive. The Mass is the incarnation of His immense love, and it is also the incarnation of our response:
I receive God in a mysterious way. He comes to me in order to be united with me. When I receive from the chalice, it is difficult for me to let go of it. The symbolism has vanished, and only the Blood of Christ remains. I want to hold on to it as long as I can."
The book mom left behind for me and read 10 years in a row... Pope Benedict XVI says some powerful things about touching Jesus, which we do each week in the Eucharist! An act of worship! I have shared how an older woman kneeling behind me at mass years ago - said aloud; "My Lord, and my God." When both the cup and bread was lifted up. I have adopted this as it allows me to truly focus on Jesus there for me, and uniting me to this powerful moment when we recognize our Lord and Savior, who is truly The Son of God!
The amazing Gospel today begins with John 3:16
God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son,
so that everyone who believes in him might not perish
but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him will not be condemned...But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God. John 3:16-21
Once again much as the angel telling the Apostles to go and "tell everything about this life", we are told to come into the light of day and reveal the working of The Holy Spirit in our lives!
Even if they could only offer them a glass of water... that is the Gospel coming to life! It is always an opportunity to share The Gospel with them, too! This day it was the road to Emmaus and they welcomed Jesus into their home and were blessed richly by him! True here too!
Looking back a year because I know that this was the stepping stone for dad to come here on the 16th! Found this happy time in Washington. Joe is now in seclusion preparing to go to Afghanistan for a 3-6 month deployment and our new granddaughter is due to arrive on May 12th. Looking at flying out on May 10th - the words every mother loves to hear no matter how old your kids are- "mom, I need you."Joy a year ago - she had just turned 3 and now is 4!
Bunny cakes 2020- the pandemic had just shut down the churches and for my dad there was no taking him back into his Assisted Living after a procedure placing a new tube into his kidney through his back - a nephrostomy...
Visiting my dad at Vets... his prophecy came true - "If anything happens to your mother, I want to come and live with you on the farm!"
Transformed into The Christ that we receive... on your journey to heaven forever with mom and only separated by 7 months in earthly time! We did experience her more perfect prayers for her family from heaven while we prayed together for those 6 months in our farm monastery! LOVE!
Receiving Jesus for the first time in his Body! So powerful and important for Bernadette! For her Godfather, Fr Ben, to come on Sunday morning from his diocese about 2 hours away speaks volumes of how beautiful and life-changing this is for each one of us when our humble Lord comes to us as his Body. Like St Thomas putting his fingers into the wounds of the risen Lord - "My Lord, and my God!" Bless-bless, Barbara
Pipi Longstockings of Anne of Green Gables - it is Joy Jean the sweet 4 year old farm girl!

In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Holy Spirit Pray for Us!
