Family times can't be beat - Pat's birthday dinner - Canning - Hallel's birthday on the 25th Sunday

A beautiful night on our porch Friday evening with 23 gathered around hubby, dad and grandpa!  Jude and Birdie helping grandpa blow out his 68ish candles while the two babies watch.  Farmer Pat is the happiest when he is knee deep in family, so this was his happy place!
"Happy Birthday, grandpa!  God is blessing you now!"  The Librande's are joining us from Charlottsville!  8 year old Romeo shares the same birthday only 60 years apart!
Pat blessing our farm supper surrounded by his family!  How we love our crazy farm and family life - sharing our Faith as a Family is our greatest JOY!
Pat's birthday poster from some paintings I did from a children's book 6 years ago in Kansas City as I was helping Nancy move.  The cow painting was by Bernadette some years back, too.
John and niece, Regina, look thoughtful together with the wall of family behind them.
Jude and Birdie sharing a chair
Pat loves his family to be all around him and he always includes them even on trips to visit our military family on one coast or the other.

This morning we took 6 grandkids including two 3 year old boys and a 2 year old girl to Walmart to get our food for family brunch after mass at the farm!  Yes, it was crazy, but hubby LOVES his family that much!  Grandma had a cart with the 3 little ones and grandpa put the food in his!

Helpers getting those last few candles out .
Friday morning I had my buddy, Tom, while mom and dad were busy at the house.  Poster boy for ice cream - grandma likes to spoil, too!

3 year old buddies after a hot tub swim...
Pat's favorite - ice cream sandwich - bead and ice cream, of course!
"This is the best!"  Kansas City with Patrick wins!
Cows in pasture behind our place coming for a drink and graze around the barn.
2 pails from my garden and 3 from Ruth's = 5 pails and we had 87 quarts of Spaghetti sauce for the day!
Bobbi at the sink cutting tomatoes with Nancy and John cutting onions.  Bobbi reported; "It was a fun family day and really didn't feel like work."  Yes, we love our family canning days - pretty much joyful and making food for our 6 families is wonderful to share!
I got pretty emotional to see hubby side by side with son, John, and our 2 oldest doing all that it takes to do make our wonderful food for 6 families including our Little Sisters and Brothers in Kansas City.  So special with Hallel living there this year to be able to have our homemade food - a taste of home made with LOVE!
Talk about Family working together!
Our 40 quart pan which we bought 25 years ago at a auction at The Catholic School!  We filled it twice!
Funny!!! Ruth ordered this vintage phone to hang in the 90 year old Airbnb they are in the process of fixing up across from the church!
Nancy and baby 9 monht old Regina.  She is our youngest grandchild...

Filled up the bench!  87 quarts plus 40 we canned a week before = close to 130 quarts for 2022 should be enough for our 6 families!

John's Jude and Birdie with fresh apples off the tree posing with the bench full of jars of the spaghetti sauce that mom and dad helped make.  They got to play with cousins...
Now Nancy's 2 youngest pose sweetly!  Their dad is over in Amsterdam for the week with work.
Now Tom's turn to pose with the jars that grandma spent the afternoon processing- all sealed but 2 and we ate them for supper with family spaghetti night - the agreement is it is good sauce!
Tom now poster boy for spaghetti!  Ruth's family probably eats 2 quarts a week and LOVE pasta!
Now Rose and Bernadette - best cousin buddies!
Simon cooking carefully the spaghetti - 4 pounds!
The bulls with the sun setting on the bean field.
Why we do the work - our oldest grandson, Simon, will be 18 in 2 days!  He has always loved pasta, and he loves all things noodles!
Simon is happy with a mountain of spaghetti in front of him!  Yes, that huge pot is full of spaghetti!
The babies with their noodles - maybe sauce next time.
Grandpa with a table full of kids!  The news today is they found some kittens and all the grandkids are going crazy!  Nothing like a new batch of kittens on the farm!!!
Even without the sauce they needed a bubble sink to get clean for mass in the morning... Gina smiles!
Now Tom's turn to smile...
Grandma and these 3 took a dip in the pool after our spaghetti supper in the dark!  Our last swim in the pool for the season feels kind of sad.  Fall is in the air!
Now Josephine and Joy - cousin friends for life!
grandma did the girl's hair for church... after 4 girls in a row - this is my greatest JOY to do little girl's hair!
Surrounded by family - 23 sharing mass today - John lectored, and Paul distributed Eucharist!

Pat held Regina and she was so good! Not a whimper!

LOVE the Alleluia today - speaks about the readings about the poor!
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Though our Lord Jesus Christ was rich, he became poor,
so that by his poverty you might become rich.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Yes, we are rich in All The Church gives us every day in Jesus, Word and Body and Blood.  We are also rich in Domesic Church/family.  Thank you, Lord!
Over to see the house progress after mass - standing on the newly done kitchen floor!  Electrician coming tomorrow and hopefully things can start moving ahead.
Berna and Birdie ready to go shopping for breakfast.
A busy place...
I guess a lot of people can fit in this sweet sqare brick house.
I can't get over the view out the front door!
"Let's go and get doughnuts, Grandpa!"
"hurry up grandma!"
My champion for LIFE and for family! The Holy Spirit guided him to set the motto our family lives by - "Open to LIFE and raising LIGHTS!"  He pointed out to me that That Man is You this year is addressing that the world needs LIGHTS!

Berna and Birdie around the yard...
Hallel 10 years ago in France with John - Lourdes!  John had just won his battle against brain cancer, and Hallel had taken her first vows.  4 years ago in the same year just 2 months apart - Hallel took her final vows - "I promise unto death." to her spouse Jesus.  John married his wife, Bobbi, 2 months before.
John's Spirit Juice Video - in his own words now the story continues with wife and kids!  The new John!

LOVE this from Blessed Charles Foucould whom Hallel introduced to us - "The Saint that accomplished nothing."
The first of May with the 3 new babies that she had met for the first time!  It was so perfect to all be together this morning on her birthday and many of us able to speak to her and as a group sing her "Happy Birthday - God is blessing you now!"
Many to pray for and so she does as well as set an example of saying "yes" to religious life is an amazing option!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 54 - 34 with us and 20 in heaven!
