St Matthew and Tom out and about day - "I desire MERCY..."

Yes, grandma on the floor with this sweet boy coming with a huge smile and love in his eyes!  How he brings joy to his old grandma and grandpa!

He has had a busy day - taking his siblings to school, then to the house in town, then home with grandma, and then grandpa came and took him to town.  "He loves to sit up and look out the windows!  Such a happy boy."  Grandpa took him into the tractor business, and the auto parts store.  Then they came with me to deliver my meals in Balaton.  The men are talking about trying to combine corn now!  Tom is now napping.

After eating lunch with grandpa, who is off to combine corn?  The blue ball is a delight for this sweety!
When grandpa knows that Tom is here - he tries to come over and see him and Tom giggles with great glee and JOY!
A wrinkle nose smile.
Happy hat!
If there is a baby in the house - hubby is here if he can manage.  He loves LIFE and has set the motto our family lives by - "Open to LIFE and raising LIGHTS!"

Yes, it is sweatshirt weather today down 30 degrees from the 90s we had yesterday.
A friend took these as I was in mass when there was a double rainbow, and also a beautiful sunrise.
Now the sunrise which is now right around 7a when mass begins.
My little sweet buddy  - Tom Tom!

Today is the Feast of the Disciple St Matthew the tax collector, whom left all behind and followed after Jesus, and not only walked behind him but became a devoted Disciple and followed all that he taught and passed on to us in his Gospel!

These thoughts of Truth really spoke to me and cemented for me the great LOVE that I have for Jesus - The Word!

We who take access to words for granted should pause to be grateful to those who preserved the Gospel words so carefully and spread them to the utmost bounds of the world without benefit of the printing press or instantaneous media.

Oh, Tom, under my mother's painting
Days with this sweet 10 month old is a gift to grandma - "You are lucky to have him." a friend reminded me - Yes!
Yes, St Matthew was a sinner and a cheat as a hated tax collector.  Jesus truly showed with St Matthew that he was sent for the sick and sinners and longed to reveal his LOVE for us with unconditional forgiveness and Mercy!

The Pharisees saw this and said to his disciples,
“Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
He heard this and said,
“Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do.
Go and learn the meaning of the words,
    I desire mercy, not sacrifice.
I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.”  Luke 9

Thank you St Matthew for giving the Word of God - Jesus' teachings and Truths that help us down the narrow path with our eyes on heaven forever!
8 years ago a family portrait with newborn Romeo on the feast of St Matthew 2014.  This year on St Matthew feast they are newly moved to Charlottsville, Virginia and now have added 3 children to reach 7 children.  I guess in another couple weeks we will find out where they are going to be located next year!  We are hoping for Kansas!  Lord, hear our prayers! Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 54 - 34 here and 20 in heaven.

My heart goes pitty pat when I see my Most Cherished Cross with his LOVE for LIFE!
Dad today was excited and he passed it on to me!  In his well worn prayer book of The Prayer of The Church he read morning and evening as a Permanent Deacon in The Catholic Church for 44 years!  He brought all 13 of us into The Church 50 years ago and each day has been filled to overflowing with so much beauty and Truth and JOY!!!  LOVE you, dad!

Mom's book of daily meditations by Pope Benedict XVI - may we totally be HIS and find True Happiness!
Fall is upon us tomorrow, but dad's man, Brother Victor, says today with a beautiful sharing on fall from his perspective as a monk in the monastery with garden and animals in the barn.
Thanks mom and dad and St Matthew for giving me Jesus to walk beside me!
