Just Lucy, grandma and her bunny as dad takes the older two to their swim lessons at the YMCA.
Church and prayer has been huge over the last 2 days! 8a mass with 3 of Ruth and Paul's up on the altar - Simon using his beautiful voice to lead the music, and David and Rose serving and also Fr Denny!
David caught me taking a picture at the beginning of mass...
The Gospel for Corpus Christi Mass was John 6:51-58 - "I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats tihs bread will live forever; and the bread that I give is my flesh for the life of the world."
Jesus on the Cross was bathed in the light as were we.
Adoration and confession going on throughout the Church with 4 priests! I have been looking forward to going and hope it works out tonight. I want to be washed clean by laying my sins at the feet of Jesus and hearing Him tell me to go - "your sins are forgiven." Thank you, Lord!
"Jesus, I adore you." There have been many prayers needed with requests and needs.
"The creator of the Universe is on the altar for us." Daniel O.
The next 3 nights will be Mission talk by Daniel, Adoration and Reconciliation. I promised to pray mightily for a friend that just had a stroke. And other needs - 2 with surgery,
Such a powerful place of peace and prayer - Lumen Christi/LIGHT of Christ Chapel in KCK - our daughter's home and LIFE as a fully professed nun in The Community of the Lamb is spent in contemplative PRAYER for us and all!I am beyond excited to know that our daughter, Maria with hubby, Major Joseph are packing up to arrive in Kansas City in a few days - they are relocating to Leavenworth, KS for the next year. They found out today that the 2 years following that they will be living 2 hours from KCK in Fort Riley, KS! LOVE this!
Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The amazing story of the 13 becoming Catholic!
let us together extol his name.
I sought the LORD, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
R. Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
Look to him that you may be radiant with joy,
and your faces may not blush with shame.
When the poor one called out, the LORD heard,
The grapes were so yummy!
A year ago on Ruth's beautiful porch. The flies are so bad this summer that we are eating inside!
Birdie shopping with us a year ago. Her family went to the Corpus Christi Procession in Ghent where John and Bobbi were married 5 years ago on the Feast of Corpus Christi! A very special anniversary to celebrate now as a family of 5!
Mary and Simon leading singing the Psalm a year ago- this year it was Simon alone. Hallel called from KCK as we were gathering for our brunch. Ruth is filling her in on all that is happening on the farm. Big news - the cows in heat have a button that sends a message to their phones and even tells them when they should be AIed! Hugely wonderful - saving Ruth and Paul and assorted others hours sitting watching for heat in the heat, humidity and the flies! Worth it's weight in gold! Listening to Hallel while we share our meal inside due to the flies. Rose told Hallel about Schoenstatt Camp - "We won capture the flag!" "Your right Rose, that was so much fun!"
Thinking Mary looks like Maria here, and annoyed with grandma... Mary used to be my prime model of farm life and love of her namesake, Mary the Mother of God. Sigh.
Factus - my God is here as man! Such a good meditation by Servant of God Catherine!
LOVE the farm pastures in the summer!
Jesus!!
A friend's picture of Prairie Smoke. I just learned the name of this plant I have noticed in the pastures over my 45 years on the farm.
A common picture of Pat these sunny days- cutting, raking and baling hay. They put up hundreds of bales!
Lots of hours and stress for the farmers with all they have to do. Prayers for their safety and all the farm family on the busy farm especially little 1 1/2 year old Tom. Jesus and Mary we turn to you in prayer and trust. Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barbara and the 34 plus many Little Brothers and Little Sisters.
I thought of Simon, our new graduate, when I read this from St Mother Teresa of Calcutta this morning. How I hope and pray that Simon will get involved in sharing his voice at Church in Sioux Falls, SD where he will be attending Southeast TECH. May you share your LIGHT always, Simon!
Pope Benedict XVI was especially good today - "The Real Presence!" Jesus!!!
A year ago a road trip with hubby to see my parents' grave by Taylors Falls! I am the oldest of 12 children. I am longing for a trip soon there. I also am longing to visit Kansas and seeing 2 of my daughters and their families for the next year. A dream come true!
"The sacred has an educational function.
Its disappearance inevitably impoverishes culture, and especially
the formation of the new generations. ... Our Father God ...sent His
Son into the world, not to abolish the sacred but to bring it to fulfillment.
At the culmination of this mission, at the Last Supper,
Jesus established the Sacrament of His Body and His Blood, the
Memorial of His Paschal Sacrifice. By doing so he put Himself in the
place of the ancient sacrifices, but He did so in the context of a rite,
which he ordered the Apostles to perpetuate as a supreme sign
of the true sacrifice, which is Him. With this faith,
... day after day we celebrate the Eucharistic Mystery, and
adore it as the centre of our lives and the heart of the world."
Pope Benedict XVI, 8 June 2012
