I will share mostly pictures today as I am here with 2 sleeping grandkids, and have an unexpected window after a wild morning with trips with hubby and all.
With 7 kids they had to invest in a large vehicle - grandpa there to greet them with many questions about their big days of travel from Charlottesville, VA to Kansas City to Leavenworth, KS to Marshall. Mostly good but travel weary.
The two youngest Hector 4 and Maggie 2.
Grandpa showing them our laying chickens and Maggie took his huge finger for a few minutes... breaking the ice!
The two 6 year olds - Joy and Evangeline soon they will be joined by Nancy's, Josephine, who has now passed over to 7 years a month ago. The 3 girls are less than a year apart, and pretty good buddies.
Maria with her youngest, Maggie. Maria's hair was like this when she was young but very dark, and can be curly when not pulled back today. She is my most salt and pepper with about half gray now. LOVE the Verly Christmas camp shirt from this year. I guess all the cousins were together in December, so it hasn't been so long.
The older Cousins making salad for our supper last night. Therese and David are just 4 months apart and in a few weeks they both will be 15. Therese was there for the night, but now has gone to Teen Schoenstatt Camp in Sleepy Eye for the week. How I love that so many of my girls are going to my beloved Schoenstatt Camp for girls! That was so important for my 4 girls as I wanted them to be around nuns in habits and Hallel even heard her call first there!
Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: Susan Angela Agnes/Little Sister Hallel - the story of a Call .
Tom and Maggie in Ruth's beautiful playhouse this morning. They are just 6 months apart - Maggie is 2 and Tom is 1 1/2.LOVE this picture - Maggie's naptime and Tom is very concerned for her melt down.
What a surprise - there is your mommy!
Mom's and kids in the playhouse - grandma can't get enough of the photos! I currently have Jude and Birdie sleeping here and when they are up we have a big spaghetti supper for close to 30 tonight at the farm and with this heat the pool will be full of kids!! Grandma lifeguard will be on the job with the little ones!Evangeline is such a good sport pushing Tom on the swing - not grandma's favorite thing to have to do, because he never wants to get off the swing. Can't get enough!
I think she is off the ground... Birdie super excited to get into the pool!
Major Joseph and Birdie having a super sweet conversation - she is amazing for only 3 years old!
Pizza on the porch - Rose 11 and Therese 15 are super good cousin friends!
17 year old Mary and 15 year old Therese catching up - talking about how good friends are so important to them. It was very hard for Therese to leave her wonderful church friends in Charlottesville - she cried. They are so happy though to be back to the safety of the military base in Fort Leavenworth, KS. "I am safe now." David said
behold, now is the day of salvation.
We cause no one to stumble in anything,
in order that no fault may be found with our ministry;
on the contrary, in everything we commend ourselves
as ministers of God, through much endurance,
in afflictions, hardships, constraints,
beatings, imprisonments, riots,
labors, vigils, fasts;
by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness,
in the Holy Spirit, in unfeigned love, in truthful speech,
in the power of God;
with weapons of righteousness at the right and at the left;
through glory and dishonor, insult and praise.
We are treated as deceivers and yet are truthful;
as unrecognized and yet acknowledged;
as dying and behold we live;
as chastised and yet not put to death;
as sorrowful yet always rejoicing;
as poor yet enriching many;
as having nothing and yet possessing all things. 2 Corinthians 6
and on the day of salvation I helped you. Yes, Lord and Lady we have felt your help and now are much more at peace.
Tom and Maggie getting spoiled by grandma and liking it a lot!
4 wheeler with grandma and grandpa on different wheelers.
We went back to see the calves in the monoslope.
and the sunset over the corn field behind the farm.
The boys taking care of the goats.
Campfire - we ate all the marshmallows - more for tonight!
Pat is a good fire starter.
8 year old Romeo enjoying the fire and eating a smore. Grandma given some peace and window to share here as Jude and Birdie are taking a nap on grandma's bed. Now to get my rosary beads until they wake up and we can go over to help with the spaghetti supper and pool time fun with the many - 19 of the 23 grandkids in the pool at one time! Yikes!
Lord and Lady keep us all safe and may we enjoy our huge family gathering for some time together on the farm. Be with the farmers as they are cutting more hay today. May we die to self so that we may serve without counting the cost. Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barbara and the almost 34 here on the farm together.
He celebrated his 95th birthday on 13 June 2023
