In Fort Leavenworth - Therese's 16th birthday/St Pat's for all the Pats, my sister Mary/my cup overflows... -+JMJ+

2 year old Regina Maria on Saturday with their crown of thorns... when they do something for their siblings of their mom they can take a thorn out.  Looks like they have a lot of good to do in the next two Passion weeks leading up to Easter.
My sister Mary, who died at age 28 in 1986.  Her birthday is on St Patrick's day.  She would have been 66 yesterday.  She is eternally young and very much on my heart.

Sunday was a big day with mass, breakfast at the farm with 21 and then I jumped in with the military family to return to base with them for some big days - today is the birthday of sweet Therese at 16 today, and tomorrow will be the Confirmation of her brother, Little Dave!
Pat with 5 year old George and 2 year old Gina in Delano as we were up there for a fundraiser for St Maximilian, the Catholic School where 5 of Nancy's 6 children go to school!
Gina looking at her baby book - her and Tommy in the bubble sink.  They are just a month apart.
A lot more good deeds to do for the next 2 weeks of Lent.
Nancy's kids do special art projects for the different seasons of The Church.

Sharing our wonderful brunch after sharing mass.  Shortly after we got on the road to be back in Fort Leavenworth, KS by 5p.
How we love to celebrate receiving Jesus in Word, Body and Blood with family and "yummy food!"
Fun to see Ruth's new rainbow afghan in use by Mary!
Grandpa Patrick on St Patrick's Day with his arms full of his Maggie and Tom!  He has passed down Patrick to many in our family- John Patrick our son, Simon Patrick, Patrick Joseph, Dominic Patrick - 3 grandsons!  Much to celebrate with our family on this day.
They sure love their Bumpa!
Tom is sharing - yes, we have added ice cream to our brunch!  Any way we can add to our celebration of great JOY and LOVE and Happiness - sharing our Faith as a Family on the Farm!

Pat's shirt is as close to green as we could get...  Joy joins the fun and joy!
The farm family 10 years ago - they have added Joy and Tom since.
Augustine is the oldest in our family in Delano - he will become a teenager in May.
His adorable St Pattys picture taken at 10 months...
Our daughter, Nancy, with her oldest Gus at her school fundraiser.
Birthday breakfast for Therese with her 2 other sisters.  She has 4 more brothers... we each went around to share what we love about this wonderful girl.  "Your love for LIFE and how you have cared for your younger siblings."
A pile of presents from Oma and a beautiful gift bag that looks like the water color flowers she makes.
Therese giving the two grandma's a lesson in water color roses as well as younger sister, 7 year old Evangeline Mary.
Art class with the birthday girl.
Opa and the boys doing wood working repair - repairing a bench they use for meals at the table.
Such special time together with visiting and painting.
I got a bit carried away with St Therese, rosary and in front of a window with The statue of The Immaculate Conception outside on a hill appearing to be in heaven.
My gift to T!  It seemed a bit lame after witnessing her beautiful work!
Such a special girl... she is a bright and shining light with all the beauty she brings into the world with her beautiful art, flowers and plants she grows, her wisdom and faith shared in her newsletter each month!  We are very blessed by you sweet girl.

Today the 23rd Psalm is the Psalm from mass, and it is such a beautiful reminder or how we are loved and cared for my our loving and forgiving Good Shepherd.  The words that jumped out to me this day of special family time in Kansas - You spread the table before me
in the sight of my foes;
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
R. Even though I walk in the dark valley I fear no evil; for you are at my side.
Only goodness and kindness follow me
all the days of my life;
And I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
for years to come.
R. Even though I walk in the dark valley I fear no evil; for you are at my side.  Psalm 23

My cup overflows, O Lord!  I am yours and I long to die to self so that I may serve without counting the cost.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 33 plus many little sisters and little brothers.
Therese 10 years ago at age 6 in the Little Sister habit that her mom sewed for her along with one of her favorite dolly, Anna.  Opa made her cross and rosary.  Her younger sister, Evangeline now loves to wear it, too!
"Since Christ Himself said in reference to the bread:
"This is My Body," who will dare remain hesitant?
And since with equal clarity He asserted:
"This is My Blood," who will dare entertain any doubt
and say that this is not His Blood?" - St Cyril of Jerusalem

"Do not, then, regard the Eucharistic
elements as ordinary bread and wine:
they are in fact that Body and Blood of the Lord,
as He Himself has declared.
Whatever your senses may tell you,
be strong in faith.

You have been taught and you are firmly convinced
that what looks and tastes like bread and wine is not
bread and wine but the Body and Blood of Christ.
You know also how David referred to this long ago,
when he sang:  Bread gives strength to man's heart
and makes his face shine with the oil of gladness.

Strengthen your heart, then, by receiving
this bread as spiritual bread, and bring joy
to the face of your soul. May purity of conscience
remove the veil from the face of your soul so that by contemplating the glory of the Lord, as in a mirror,
you may transformed from glory to glory
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
To Him be glory for ever and ever.  Amen."
