3 kittens is a nice number and grandpa reports there is another mother cat that looks close to having her kittens too. Oh, those spring kittens that come before it is truly spring! Luckily this year it is very mild outside.
They are learning how to walk...
Next we went out to see the twin goats that were born overnight. The first kids of the year - a male and a female. Tom looks at the male, who is stronger than the other.
Cute alert! Joy, Rose and the sweet baby boy kid.
Tom, Joy and a black fall kitten that is very sweet and loving. "The perfect picture." said 10 year old Luke Paul. Truth! Grandma was over as they were covering the gluten pile this morning with no wind.
The 3 lucky early spring kittens in a clothes basket in the house. Joy says that there are 2 males and a female.
Rose helping the female kid stand up and she is getting stronger now. It was a tight fit in momma goat's womb so it takes a while to get those legs straight and strong. Tom is more interested in the tractors in the machine shed.
Ruth is such a great lover of LIFE - she has 7 kids of her own from 19 to 2, and she always had kittens and cats in the house, she appreciates that the kids have some goats and that they have kids, she also is a farmer along with hubby, Paul, and dad, Pat. She works the cattle with the men and is the chief watcher for heat, and Cow TV in her chair while she crochets.
Two years ago she would be nursing Tom while she watched Cow TV, and 6 years before that she nursed Joy while she watched Cow TV at night. She can do it all!!! LIFE is her message and gift to all!
Tom excited to get up in the tractor, and then he wanted to go and play in the sandbox.
The guys putting tires on the gluten pile - no wind this morning but now at 2pm it is up to 20mph!
How we love the willing hard working hands we have on the farm! Thank you Ruth and Paul and your wonderful family! We thank the Lord for you every day!

How amazing to find the Prodigal Son today from Luke 15 as the Gospel! The words of the Father when his son returns to him humble and broken - But when he came to himself he said, `How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, but I perish here with hunger! 18I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; 19I am no longer worthy to be called your son; treat me as one of your hired servants."' 20And he arose and came to his father. But while he was yet at a distance, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21And the son said to him, `Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' 22But the father said to his servants, `Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet; 23and bring the fatted calf and kill it, and let us eat and make merry; 24for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.' And they began to make merry. Luke 15:17-24
Grandma loves her pictures and farm pictures can't be beat!
I know that I have personally been lost and the Holy Spirit interceded on my behalf and I was found! Saving me from going out West for all the wrong reasons and ending up in a Christian Commune in Bolder, Co!
Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The amazing story of the 13 becoming Catholic!
Joy noticing the Stations of the Cross that her Aunt Maria made when she came home from discerning Religious LIFE for 4 months with the Poor Clare Nuns. The outside Stations at the Monastery were very powerful for her as she asked the Lord to reveal his plan for her. This was 20 years ago!!!
3rd Station Jesus falls the first time. The Stations are important to the farm family this Lent as they ate doing the Stations as a family in the evening. So beautiful to place ourselves with Jesus and all he suffered so that we would be redeemed! 9th Station - Jesus falls the 3rd time
the final station - #14 - Jesus is laid in the tomb.
The 5th Station - Simon helps Jesus carry his Cross

Maria made these with 2 friends that are both nuns now - we get a letter from St Elizabeth of the Nashville Dominicans each Christmas. A beautiful story of giving her all to her Lord Jesus.
Joy and Tom with bare feet in the sand box.
"Grandma not a kid but a tractor."Joy and Tom with bare feet in the sand box.
Ruth with her 2 year old. I am overjoyed that Ruth's life has slowed down now that the apartments are finished. Her little boy will keep her young and JOY! Bless-bless, Barbara
Mary - Captain Underpants at Speech Spotlight last night!
This is the day the LORD has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
"The duties and cares of the day ahead crowd about us when we awake in the morning (if they have not already dispelled our night's rest). Now arises the uneasy question: How can all this be accommodated in one day? When will I do this, when that? How shall I start on this and that?
Thus agitated, we would like to run around and rush forth. We must then take the reins in hand and say, "Take it easy! Not any of this may touch me now. My first morning's hour belongs to the Lord. I will tackle the day's work which He charges me with, and He will give me the power to accomplish it."
So I will go to the altar of God. Here it is not a question of my minute, petty affairs, but of the great offering of reconciliation. I may participate in that, purify myself and be made happy, and lay myself with all my doings and troubles along with the sacrifice on the altar. And when the Lord comes to me then in Holy Communion, then I may ask Him, "Lord, what do you want of me?" (St Teresa). And after quiet dialogue, I will go to that which I see as my next duty."
From Essays on Woman,
St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein)

“The real problem of the Christian life comes where people do not usually look for it. It comes the very moment you wake up each morning. All your wishes and hopes for the day rush at you like wild animals. And the first job each morning consists simply in shoving them all back; in listening to that other voice, taking that other point of view, letting that other larger, stronger, quieter life come flowing in." - C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
