On this feast of the Transfiguration of our Lord... it has been a hard day for me... I just said goodbye to my daughter, Maria and her family and had the sad feeling inside that I didn't fully give myself to their visit for one reason or the other... I am under a burden with so much pulling at me in the garden, in my jobs, in my house and in my "ministry." Yes! I do feel that I am called to share of myself here and in answering the people that contact me personally... I not only want to share but I feel that I need to.
Maybe that sounds shocking to some to hear that I feel that I have a ministry in all of this... I guess that I have realized for a long time that there are few that take what the Catholic Church has to offer with no reservations what so ever... and that would be me and my husband and our family! I get so much support here within our family circle and for the most part my parents are there with me too and started this whole thing for me... as almost 40 years ago we became members of the Catholic Church as a family... all 13 of us! 
I have this stupendous support within our family circle, but then there is so little to be found elsewhere.... Many people that I encounter are "shopping cart Catholics" that feel that they can pick and choose what fits in with their lives and leave the rest! That is quite sad and upsetting to me, because the Church doesn't take lightly anything that it holds out to it's members as truth and wisdom! The Church is telling us the Truth and the Life and is doing it with Love for each one of us in our day to day lives!
I am not saying this to offend anyone or to send you away with disgust... but rather to let you know with love that our Lord has great wisdom within His Church and has laid out for us a wonderful plan for our lives! To be open to family within marriage, and to wait for marriage to share the "marital embrace", and to only prevent naturally with both spouces involved... is one powerful example of how the Church is there to help us and do what is best for us! I see the lies of the world are rampant in this area especially and Satan has lied to the world and they are totally misled and confused and losing out on the beauty of what marriage and family can all be about with the help of our wonderful wise Church!

The resplendence of the Transfiguration reveals the fullness of life destined to be ours. The Transfiguration invites us to configuration. As we peer into the glory that pours from every pore of the transfigured Christ, we cast off everything unworthy of our personal relationship with the Infinite, and we take on the luster of the Son of God. Jesus gazes back at us with a luminous look of love that makes us desire to live his transparent beauty - to be luminaries. Silently from Tabor's splendor, the Savior begs: "Become what you behold!"
In order to reach that place of being "luminaries" where we live the life that our Lord has for us... as Catholics... we are given the joy and gift of all the sacraments and wisdom of all the Doctors of the Church and popes starting with ST Peter... not to mention the Word of God that is shared with us each day in the mass! The Gospel is shared and "digested" and we become that Word made flesh and take out with us to all those around us! 
If there is something that we struggle with that the Church holds out to us like contraception or premarital sex or cohabitation... we should not just lightly throw it out of our lives and say that doesn't fit for me... we should ask for help to understand why it is the Truth and Life for us to have happy and holy lives and lives that are filled with Him!

The meditation of the day by Fr Hilton:"The Gospel says of the apostles when they were with our Lord at the Transfiguration that first they slept and then wakening they saw his majesty. The sleep of the apostles represents death to worldly love through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, their awakening represents contemplation of God.... Show me a soul whose eyes are opened by grace to the contemplation of God, a soul detached and withdrawn from the love of the world so that it has obtained purity and poverty of spirit, rest, interior silence, and peaceof conscience, elevation of thought, solitude, and seclusion of heart, and the wakeful sleep of the spouse; a soul that has ceased to find pleasure and joy in the world, which is captivated by heavenly delights, and which is always thirsting and sighing gently for the presence of God, and I do not hesitate to say that such a soul is consumed with love and enveloped in spiritual light, worthy to be called and to be the spouse of Christ. It is reformed in feeling and ready for contemplation. These are the signs of the inspiration which accompanies the opening of the soul's eyes; for when its eyes are opened the soul enjoys these gifts."
Dear Loving Lord! We come to you and ask for the life that you so badly want us to have... ones filled with life and love! Show us your Way and your Truth and you Life! Jesus we trust in you! Amen and Halleluia!
