Early morning surgery...

We remembered that it will be Mary's birthday in a week, so while 6 year old brother was gone for surgery to put tubes in his ears... we took advantage of a beautiful morning to take some birthday pictures... I just love to capture their wonderful red barn in the background too!

Down to the creek in the pasture- which was a lake a few days ago when we got 3 inches of rain overnight.  A year ago I had to sacrifice my camera to save David, who fell in head first and was being carried away in the current... this time not a boot landed in the water!  We just stood back and looked...

Kitties followed us down the path, and were snuggled in the sun....

We didn't mind that the kitties got close to the water...

That green grass is so wonderful to see....  We had a great hour down by the creek in the early morning sunshine

So amazing to be outside for a good old fashioned "adventure."  For quite a few years I did Ruth's daycare while she worked half time as a nurse at the hospital.  After 4 months of being trapped in the house by a horrific winter... it was a dream to be out and going from mud, to climbing hills and running back down, chasing cats through the trees, and picking pine cones of the pine trees, and...

wading through the mud on the path from the pasture up to the barn...  We arrived back at the house muddy and tired and sunkissed and happy.  The grass is getting green before our eyes! 

Davey and I pose in front of the creek - where a year ago he fell in head first and grandma had to save him... We stayed well away from the water this year!  I think that we learned a lesson... there is alot of fun to be had without going by or into or anywhere near the water!  Bless-bless, Barb

Oh, I forgot to fill you in on Simon... While we were watching public TV this morning Arthur's sister, DW was having tubes put in her ears at the exact time that Simon was having it done here in Marshall.  He had quite eventful surgery... first the doctor pulled a loose tooth in the front... if that had come out during surgery it might not have been good, then they put the tubes in and think that it will help his hearing a lot!  Also they took out his adenoids as they were looking about as bad as they can get.  And then they tested his blood for a bunch of alergies... all while he was under anesthetic!  It was very thorough and wise to take advantage of him being under to take care of a lot of things!  Simon is feeling well and resting at home with popcicles and soft food and not sick to speak of... the nurses took up a collection for the tooth fairy and Simon hit a goldmine there!
