In a few weeks Mary will be 5... from the first year... she would find her way over to the statue of Our Lady that is in my Mary Garden under the pine tree at the top of our fairly long driveway... She seemed to know that this Lady was very special and just had a love and devotion to her namesake inately! It was a thing of beauty to behold. Today the crocuses coming up beckoned to be picked and shown to Our Lady...
A familiar pose over the years of life and coming to spend days with grandma and grandpa on the farm. She is a wonderful special lady that represents love and security to a little girl, who was named after the most amaing woman in the world - the Mother of God, the Blessed Mother Mary Most Holy!
Little two year old Mary knew that there was a bond of love between them.. my prayer for her is that she will continue to know and love the wonderful example that Mother Mary sets for us as women - to bear Christ to the world and most especially to those closest to us in our families! "Holy Mary Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen"
