Matthew "rose" and followed him! Sharing our LOVE and JOY between weddings!

A surprise call from Lila, Bobbi's mom, this morning and the next thing we know we are sharing so much JOY on my porch on this top 10 weather day!!!  One thing Lila regretted was not getting one of the two of us, so we took a bit washed out selfie with the joy of being related now through our children!

On the barn the sign remains - John and Bobbi, True LOVE!  I am waiting for them to come and pose in front of it someday, but for today it was just fun to have it in the background.  The barn door is up reminding me that I need to keep this short as mowing has my name on it.
Wedding wine and a sweet picture of Bobbi with her dress and bouquet and her emotional dad behind.  LOVE!  I gifted these to Lila, and we both agree that everything was perfect and we still are higher than a kite about every part of their big day.  Lila shared that she has the music from the reception that she listens to while she works on the quilt wedding gift for her son's wedding coming up on September 1st.

Two weeks before that we will all 18 of us, including John and Bobbi, will be in France for Hallel's wedding/final vows!  Such exciting times for both of our families, as Bobbi's brother, Scott, will be married in New Jersey on September 1st!  That wedding wine tasted so sweet and special to share today as we toasted our newly weds and shared the excitement, joy and happiness at what lies ahead as our families are brought together to surround those marrying with our love and total support!
So many prayers and so grateful as we agreed that we were overjoyed to have Bobbi join our family and for John to join the Schmidt family!  Much to rejoice about together!

Lila and I were so blessed to know and celebrate the Feast of St Maria Goretti today!  Both hold her in high esteem and have been happy to realize that she went to her death not to protect her purity to that extreme but rather that she was concerned about the soul of the man who was attacking her!  As he said at her Cannonization...."I hope for salvation, since I have a saint in heaven praying for me."
I think Lila got a taste of how much pictures speak for me and to me!  LOVE!  Such a reminder of the reason for our still being so happy and excited about their love and sweet Faith in Jesus and His Bride, The Church!

John is the new John since going through his brain cancer, but through that year he gained sincere Faith and love for Mary, Jesus and The Church!  That is the most important thing there is!

So happy for our children finding each other!  Those 10 years before they found each other were all part of the plan!  Lots of Trust and prayer and patience on each of their parts as they listened to the Lord's direction in their lives.  He answered their prayers in such glorious and amazing ways!

I was very touched today to read that the Gospel story of Jesus calling Matthew the tax collector sinner... "Follow me."  Matthew "rose" and followed him!  Bishop Barron shared that the word for "rose" was the same rose as used when Jesus' resurrection!

And then we hear that Matthew “got up and followed him.” The verb used here in the Greek is the same verb used to describe the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead: Matthew rose. Conversion means a transition into a higher life, arising from a preoccupation with the goods of the world and a reorientation to the things of God.

Wow!!!  May we too transition into a higher life when we follow after our Lord and Savior carrying/dragging our most Cherished Cross down the narrow path!
Jesus, we love you and long to grow ever closer to you in all that we do each day and moment of each day!  Thank you for bringing our two families together, and for more wonderful family time to come.  We love for the occasions when we can share in the Big wonderful occasions, and we love the closeness we are blessed with each day through prayer.  For me the rosary is hugely a gift in praying for all those you have given me on this journey of LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Now to mow on this top 10 weather day!  Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke

Jesus amazing words from the Gospel today to ponder in our hearts!

Maria was only 11 when a family friend made sexual advances toward her. When she refused, he stabbed her repeatedly. Before her death, she forgave him, and even appeared to him in prison, prompting a change of heart. St. Maria Goretti, pray for us!
