Such a glorious interval for us on this summer day... mom and dad with son, Daniel, and his sweet wife, Angela, enjoying their peaceful yard and black raspberry margaritas.  They sure were heavenly. and the black raspberries just growing hours before!  The best!!!  "They are great for antioxidents!" 




So wonderful to think of healthy freshness filling us from the inside and sharing from the heart filling us with all the goodness and happiness of sharing our Faith as a family/domestic Church!

I just watched as my dad looked for a black and white jacket for mom, and couldn't find it even though it was right in front of him.  "I thought it was checked."  Cute to watch them caring for each other and appreciating their time together still.

The Gospel today filled with the command from Jesus to his apostles as he sends them out with total humility in their going forth with empty hands and begging from others for their needs of lodging and food.  I recall Hallel's first time going on Mission with her Community of the Lamb in hot Kansas City..."It was one of the hardest things I have ever done, yet it was very powerful!"  Knocking on the door of the poor and begging for their food!  Sharing the Word with them and asking for their prayer requests to be lifted up during mass and Adoration each day.  Even a cup of cold water was living the Words of the Gospel and sharing in the Coporal works of Mercy!

Just back from mass with my parents... now awaiting a birthday party with siblings for mom.   She will begin her 90th year in 2 days!  How I cherish my time with the two of them in their peaceful well ordered home and sharing our Faith with JOY and excitement!

I am eternally grateful for my parents listening to the Holy Spirit in their lives!  I told dad that he should have an icon of Isaiah the prophet as he was instrumental in the Spirit's direction - Isaiah 55:1-2 speaks of the Eucharist before Christ!  LOVE!

Deacon Robert in Colman, SD where he was for 3 years just an hour and 10 minutes from our door to theirs!  Such a gift to me!  Now I am gifted with my husband's support in giving me these precious days with my wonderful parents while they are living together in their wonderful home just 4 hours from my door to their door.  The thing about being further away is that I must stay a while and can't easily stop by for a few hours as before.

Next my parents built a vacation home/retirement home for them in Michigan on the Big Lake!  Beautiful Beach picture from 6 years ago at sunset.  We were blessed with 16 years with our week there sharing family time supreme!

O my heart!!!


From the Psalm in mass today - Psalm 85 - tells us that we need nothing but to trust in Jesus and as Deacon said today we need to keep our hearts clean and soft after confession and the Holy Spirit will come and dwell in us and show us the path ahead of us! 
The LORD himself will give his benefits;
our land shall yield its increase.
Justice shall walk before him,
and prepare the way of his steps.
R. Lord, let us see your kindness, and grant us your salvation.


In our society we think that we must be prepared for anything and have no need to depend on anyone else!  When Susan/Hallel went begging 10 years ago before she joined The Community... they were given a can of tuna, and in order to eat it they had to knock on a door to ask them to open it for them.  Talk about humbling and embracing poverty and obedience!  Jesus, we trust in you. 

Soon they will be bathing in the healing waters of Lourdes and then sharing Rome with their children after Hallel's wedding/final vows in France!


Jesus told them to take no money in their belts!  This is what really matters...

Time on the beach on the inland sea!  Thanks mom and dad for 14 wonderful years!  How we miss our time there!

Jesus, we love you and want to do all that we must to be the saints we are called to be with the help of your Holy Spirit and depending on you for all!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
