Bobbi blew all of us away with her wonderful sharing of how she prayed for John and patiently waited for him over 10 years!
Bobbi's story she shared at the reception as well as with Hallel!
After being classmates for all 13 years for them to come together 10 years after graduating is kind of special. She shared to the 300 family and friends gathered at the reception in her sweet humble way about how John Verly popped into her head and heart when they were seniors in HS as her future husband. Time and time again the same answer came to her through prayer and roses from St Therese and opening her eyes to see him right in front of her at WYD in Australia... When we consider what John experienced over those 10 years... brain cancer, seminary, girl friends, ups and downs and how disheartening it probably was and how powerful her prayers were for him!!!! Amazing!!! And how patient and trusting and prayerful and waiting and praying for John, this sweet girl was!
Breakfast on the farm this morning... Mary and David helping to serve the free breakfast. A farming friend today shared how much Bobbi's sharing touched her!
The Gospel for today always leaves me a bit confused about the new wine into new wineskins, but I am starting to see how much sense it makes for me. I know that each day of my journey in The Church has been filled with so much from the readings to the Sacraments, and My Mother of heaven and earth, and all the Saints of which I am a huge fan, and the wisdom of all those alive and in the past that have led The Church in all that is Truth to help us on the path to heaven. Yes, our hearts must be soft and new and open to take that new wine and allow it to become our JOY and our LOVE and all the fruits of the Spirit in our domestic Church/family!
A work of art!!! Their 5 Godchildren between them. I pray for my 5 every day and have a decade of the rosary devoted to them... the first Luminous/The Baptism of Jesus as that is where I pledged to help them on their Faith journey. Happy birthday to Goddaughter, Sarah Gaustad today! Jesus, hold Sarah close to your heart burning with love for her.
Ordering the wine for the wedding... I went way overboard and ended up with a case of dry wine and one of more sweet wine. I am loving having it and sharing it on special occasions or should I say making occasions special with "wedding wine!" A baby shower here at my home on my wonderful porch with family, who had shared the wedding with us just a couple weeks before...
A surprise lunch with Bobbi's mom sharing the new wine of the LOVE of John and Bobbi after all these years of prayer and trust! And we shared "wedding wine" on a top 10 weather day on the porch with hardly any bugs bothering us!
The bottles of wine have corks and take some care to open and adds to the specialness of wedding wine! No, the wedding at Cana wasn't used as their Gospel reading as we had the mass of Corpus Christi for their wedding, so that all would fulfill their Sunday obligation! But really the wine became his Blood for our salvation and that is the BEST! The gallons of wine at the first miracle is how these special cases of wine in my pantry feel to me! "Wedding wine rejoice!!! Hallelujah!"
Our time together in a picture with radishes from the garden, our homemade salsa, black sweet cherries that call my heart to our years in Michigan, Bobbi in her wedding dress and gorgeous bouquet complete with peonies that had been found and picked around town, flowers from my garden that seem to like all the rain, too! My newly redone porch and new furniture has certainly been wonderful these couple days!
Out mowing in the sunshine after so much rain over the last month! The corn field around us seems to like it according to Pat's famous saying; "Rain makes grain!" The corn is well over my head and we are just days past the forth of July... way past kneehigh and about to tassel any day now!Lord, you are in control of our lives and we trust in you to guide and direct us and we are eternally grateful for all we are given with each new day as we follow you down the narrow path carrying/dragging our most Cherished Cross to find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT! May our humble hearts be open and pliable to grow with all the LOVE you pour into them. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
Such vibrant green in the Lord's glorious creation all around us with the bountiful rain. Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke
