1 1/2 year old Birdie Barbara and her grandpa pointing to words and saying them. She is so smart and has many words already!
So precious together! "We want to have a celebration of your birthday, mom, so that you can enjoy your grandkids and have some cupcakes." It made this old lady feel special and lots of laughter is the best medicine!
Birdie so much reminds me of our 4 girls. Her dark hair and eyes and round pretty face and pug nose is like looking back at our nest years.
She loves her daddy, who is her caregiver while mom is at work.
It was powerful to share mass today with Ruth and kids ahead of us and Pat and I behind. John and Bobbi went to Ghent church today... All the readings have to do with LIFE, family and marriage today. Starting with Genesis 2 with woman coming from the man's rib - When he brought her to the man, the man said:
"This one, at last, is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
this one shall be called 'woman, '
for out of 'her man’ this one has been taken."
That is why a man leaves his father and mother
and clings to his wife,
and the two of them become one flesh. Genesis 2
Father Denny preached beautifully this Respect life Sunday with no reservations about how LIFE is to be protected and cherished from conception to natural death. It was black and white about how marriage is to be between one man and one woman, and that the "marital embrace" is to be open to life. He did not spell out that artificial contraception is not to be used as it interferes with the Lord's ability to be at work in the children we are given. Natural family planning allows God to be involved! It is also known that the pill causes a fertilized ovum to be cast out/aborted.
Broom horsey makes me smile with joy. The Meditation for today "Male and Female he created them" by Father Elwood Smith O PSpeaking of a woman's ability to love..."A joyous love, it brings to earth a foretaste of the happiness of heaven."
Such an important reminder to keep the JOY a part of our shared time together!
Ruth bringing the eggs with her beautiful baby belly - little boy due by C-section on November 19th we are thinking. Talk about being open to LIFE and raising LIGHTS! LIFE is a gift!
Blessing our food with the light of this beautiful fall day streaming in upon us!Sharing the cuteness...
The huge picture window is loved by the kids.
On the move with smiles for grandma and her camera.Even a banner just for grandma. Thank you!
Dad's prayer book today lends a prayer for me and our family on this 27th Sunday of Ordinary time!
Love that the rain has given him the opportunity to get some Sunday rest!
I never get tired of gazing upon his lovely face! I am smitten by my Most Cherished Cross!
Fulton Sheen has a way of putting things under the spotlight and pointing out how we are lied to by Satan and looked down upon if we carry forth with morals and values into our lives and world. How we need to raise our children to be LIGHTS in this world!
Brother Victor reminds us of the "time of transition" which is October fall. It is spectacular!
A memory of 2015 - Luke helping Pat's mom blow out her birthday candles. Her birthday was yesterday and she would have been 102. She lived till she was 97! We miss her a lot!
Rose 7 years ago on my porch, which is now Ruth's home. We switched a couple years later, and now the young family lives on the farm. So much better to have them loving all it takes to feed the world!
2 year old Rose again with boots and all!
