Fresh bedding on a beautiful afternoon - this super cute calf just begged for me to take its' picture over and over and over...
Then the budding lilacs were a promise of those wonderful smelling and looking bouquets that fill my house usually around Mother's Day in mid May... can they really be here a month early this year? Time will tell. I just hope that they won't be ruined by a frost, but I think there is more of a chance of that happening than of there being lilacs on Easter. I guess all we can do is just wait and see, and HOPE! I am a total lilac junkie! There is one under my nose from when the first ones open a blossom or two until they are falling apart. I LOVE LILACS!
Mary meets Bartemaeus, the blind calf... He is now out on a large lot with his mother and many other pairs. He has such a good mother that Pat thinks that they will do just fine now! Once again he will keep a close eye on him, and time will tell. He spent many hours on him the first few days, and it was a good time because his calving had slowed down. Now he feels that Bart is getting around better and his mother is very attentive to him. "He'll do fine, and maybe can even go out on pasture eventually." Maybe his vision is coming a bit, with the prayers to St Joseph that my parents are saying for him... it doesn't really look that way, but there is no harm in praying and HOPING.
My final portrait for the end of a beautiful day on the farm... Mary out by the corn stalk bales... She is looking at the cows and calves, as we visit about her going to her first 4H meeting tomorrow night. Her life will be changed forever from that point onward! 4H was huge for her mom and dad and aunts and uncles growing up on the farm. Mary is very excited for her 4H years to begin, and showing her Snowball and Snowflake. Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless
P.S. there was major drama at supper as Mary wiggled her first loose tooth... she will be 6 in just a couple weeks, so it begins! Growing up is exciting and maybe just a little bit scarey too!
Are those black sheep? I thought that it's only in fictional stories. Anyway, your daughter looks so beautiful and I think that those sheeps love her too. I bet she's a good care taker of that villa.
