Therese's 10th birthday!!! 5th Sunday of Lent/Death to self so that Christ lives in us/By our wounds we are healed?!

The Family crown of thorns style!  Today is sweet oldest sister, Therese' 10th birthday!

I am sure that in the last 30 days of Lent many good deeds and penances have been done by these 4 kids!  Living with them last Lent the crown becomes scimpy and there are many toothpicks broken off and stubby looking.  This year they were praying especially for one of Maria's aunts, who has discovered a cancer journey lies ahead for her.  Maria's children have certainly learned to give of themselves for others and the very real value of PRAYER!  Prayer is something real and powerful and not just words!!!

Therese is so happy to have a baby sister to dress up and care for!  They are just a bit more than 8 years apart as Evangeline will be 2 on May first!
Two years ago when Evangeline was just a week old, and Therese was 8 years old!  What a lucky baby sister to have so much love poured out on her!

Due to life I have not been able to share on here as usual.  A busy day watching gates while Pat and Paul hauled manure...
Yesterday John spoke at a CCW group about an hour away in a most beautiful church!  Bobbi and her mom, Lila, were going and invited me to share the day with them.  It was wonderful to see John's ministry of sharing his LOVE he has been given through his prayer ministry!  The ladies were all very attentive and seemed to be blessed by his prayer and witness to healing through prayer.
Sharing his LOVE through prayer!  Mary on one side and Joseph on the other... both of whom entered into his prayer and his story.

A thought that struck me after some intense sharing with others about the wounds we receive in life, also the healing that we all need and many find through our amazing Church...  Can it be possible that by our own wounds we are healed and brought to a greater place of Faith?  We are asked by our Lord to die as a grain of wheat and what brings that to us in life other than the cracking of our shells by our wounds?  Our hearts are broken open by our pains in life,,, we die to self.
Stunningly beautiful church - St Aloysius, and wonderful stations of the Cross from the perspective of Mary the Mother of Jesus!

In answer to my pondering... I look at John's story and see that the answer is "yes" there for sure... the woundedness of Brain cancer brought John to be healed of his lack of faith and finding a "new John."  Jesus promises us that the way to follow him is to follow his example and take up our Cross and find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT as a result to that death to self!

St Patrick's Picture of Ruth with her 6 yesterday on my newly done porch...

Some of the most painful wounds I have been given were the losses of my 7 in the midst of my childbearing years and I do see how these 7 in heaven and sharing that pain as a family is breaking my selfishness and allowing Jesus to live in me more fully... making me appreciate all life with a passion and keeping my eyes ever on heaven forever.

Prime rosary time while watching the gate... I am surrounded by little ones today while Ruth, Paul, Simon, Mary, and Pat are out putting tags into the hormone free cattle...

Jesus, we trust in you.  By your wounds and you healing ours are we healed.  Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke
