I am longing for a photo of our entire group, but I must bide my time as Ruth has them on her wonderful camera in Rome!!! Not only did the mountain come to France - we moved it and we all arrived safely and in time to gather in the Green Cathedral in Saint Pierre, but we were blessed with many Mountaintop experiences that have touched us very deeply and bonded us even more as a family that shares our Faith and places it first and foremost in our lives as a domestic Church/family!
Hallel's Lamb she received at her "perpetual vows" surrounded by the wood it was cut from for her parents with their motto for life..."Wounded, I will not cease to love." in Pat's huge hand!
My heart is full to overflowing this day of our return to our farm in Minnesota, USA after a week of the deepest sort in rural France away from the world/totally unplugged from technology/days spent in prayer and dishes and mass and Adoration in the midst of Hallel's Dominican Community of the Lamb!
Our group on the hillside during Hallel's powerfully moving perpetual vows/mass in the Green Cathedral!
The Archbishop who preached and officiated said this; "At the moment of your perpetual vows you said; 'May I be one with you throughout all my life, my Jesus. All for God!' "
Our group gathering on the hillside before her vows and mass!
Only John, Pat, Nancy and I had been able to visit France and The Community in the past, so for us to have 18 of our family there was one of the highlights of our time. There is something very special about knowing that they are there with eyes and ears and hearts and minds and souls sharing in the powerful life of poverty, chastity and obedience they have embraced in their life and vows!
Reading the Gospel this morning with Pat in the kitchen of our farm house... the words made tears leap to my eyes and the depth of Hallel's life came to us in Spirit and Truth... Jesus in The Word!
"And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters
or father or mother or children or lands
for the sake of my name will receive a hundred times more,
and will inherit eternal life.
But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first." Matthew 19
All gathered in the Holy Family space on the hillside for her feast!!! Looking around at all our children with their spouses and half of our grandchildren from 13-5 years old... what JOY! Listening to them visit and kid and laugh and looking at their faces as they soaked in the beautiful day and found their own understanding of Hallel's life of poverty to all things so that she may give her ALL to Jesus and He to her!
The 12 with their lamps lit... the Gospel comes to life! Better pictures are coming... I promise!
Ruth sharing this powerful experience that only few can experience with her 2 oldest daughters, Mary and Rose! They are now in Rome and will return to the farm late tomorrow.
Paul shared this amazing happening in Rome! Mary and her Uncle Joseph were asked to serve at Mass in Rome a few days back! I am in awe of how the Lord touches our family but most of all our hearts, minds and souls with His Truth and His LOVE!
I am so touched by two brothers and a most precious sister-in-law who made the big trip and now share with us in this most wonderful time in our family! Hallel certainly knew she was loved and supported in such a powerful way, and we were all mightily blessed by her "yes!"
Pat's cousin, Lucy, in front of the altar in the Green Cathedral where branches are the roof and the stain glass windows all around us!
Our last two to be married sharing their joy!!!
Jesus, our lives are so blessed by the example of our daughter Little Sister Hallel! We are forever grateful and give you endless praise now and forever for our sharing our Faith as a family! We are in love with You and your Bride, The Church, which is always there to help us get to heaven forever with YOU! "You are the lambs of God. Jesus through us attracts everything to himself. You are the wise virgins... be entirely available to the Lord." Archbishop in his homily for Hallel's perpetual vows/wedding day. "Breathe in the eternity of God." Yes, Lord! I am yours! May I be poor of all that keeps me from you and then filled with LOVE alone! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
Three of the girls being sisters and sharing their lives in France! I am still so amazed that my mother-in-law allowed us to be there and we knew of her presence with us without a doubt! Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke
Our sign of family gathering in the foothills of the Pryenees Mountains in Southern France!
The desserts arrived with the parade of children which is tradition with them!
Ruth comment after this... "our Christmas card" until she remembered that there were the two youngest missing..."I can just add them." We hear that Joy is walking for grandma Phyllis!

Happy Feast Day
Pope Saint Pius X
1835-1914
Feast day: August 21
Patronage: First Communicants
Pope St. Pius X, born Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto, was the 257th pope of the Catholic Church, serving from 1903 to 1914. He was the first pope since Pope Pius V to be canonized. Pope Pius X is perhaps best remembered for his encouragement of the frequent reception of Holy Communion, especially for children. The second of 10 children in a poor Italian family, Joseph Sarto became Pius X at 68, one of the 20th century's greatest popes.
"Holy Communion is the shortest and fastest way to Heaven." - Pope Saint Pius X
Pray for us!

Happy Feast Day
Our Lady of Knock
Queen of Ireland
Feast Day: August 21
In the small town of Knock, Ireland 1879, Our Lady appeared to two women in the back of the town church. Mary was clothed in white garments and wearing a brilliant crown. By her side was St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist. Behind them, an altar with a lamb and a cross on it. The women called several others to the church who were also able to see this miracle. 10 days after the apparition a young girl, born deaf, was able to hear. By the end of 1800, over 300 cures were recorded by the parish priest. One-and-a-half million people make a pilgrimage to Knock annually.
She came up on our journey as Our Lady was with us mightily! The Vows happened on The Feast of the Assumption of Mary, we went to Lourdes 2 days later and prayed for you all, and every night we sang the Salve Regina in front of her image as the sun set! How we love her. Grandson David asked me why we pray to her just moments after we arrived in Lourdes..."David, what do you think Jesus does when his beloved mother asks him for something?" "He listens to her and loves her!"
