John and Bobbi placing roses in the gorgeous arrangement in front of Mary and St Therese, who is Bobbi's patron saint! Adding to the beauty are many votive candles all alight and glowing. Luminating the Truth of our gazing at them as our light down the narrow path!
Our week is beginning with The Feast of The Transfiguration! Coming across this last night filled me with another moment of great JOY as we are now a week away from our time in France for our Hallel's wedding! The 4th decade of the Luminous Mysteries started in 2002 by St JPII... is The Transfiguration! 832 times over the last 16 years each week I have prayed that for Susan/Hallel, who is my 4th child! It seems so right and special for it to occur now as our final preparations are being made for the mountain to move to France! 18 of our immediate family and 3 of my sibs!
LOVE this so much!!! These two women glow like beacons for me... Luminaries along my path!!!
Reading about the Transfiguration today this struck me powerfully and really brought it home to me in my heart!
"As we peer into the glory that pours from every pore of the transfigured Christ, we cast off what makes us unworthy of our personal relationship with the Infinite, and we take on the luster of the Son of God. Jesus gazes back at us with a luminous look of love that makes us desire to live his transparent beauty - to be luminaries. Silently from Tabor's splendor, the Savior begs: 'Become what you behold!' Talk about Luminaries along my path - allowing Christ to shine through them in their lives!!! My family teach me and give me so much each day of my journey! They show me with their lives how to serve without counting the cost, how to be open to life and raise lights, how to be life-giving in their marriages and not life-taking, how to love the poor and to see Jesus in them, how to wait and pray and trust in His Plan and his timing is perfect, how to serve our Lord and country in that order, how to find faith through The Cross in many shapes and sizes!
My path is lit by so many luminaries and so I do not have the excuse of getting lost or stumbling in the darkness of sin and death. My path is well lit and I need to carry/drag my Most Cherished Cross and humbly come to Him in my weakness and lay my burdens at his feet in the confessional more often than I do. Many of my luminaries do that on a much more regular basis!
Mass in Ghent in April of 2013 when Hallel was here for her first home visit in the midst of a huge snow storm. Hallel needs daily mass to be with her Spouse, Jesus! We found mass here at St Elois on a Saturday with this altar aglow in LIGHT! These two girls, Mary and Therese, holding two of the babies, Rose and Bernadette, who are now 6 each... Mary and Therese with their amazing namesakes! No better role- models to be had by two girls, and they are glowing luminaries along my path!
Hallel with the 9 nieces and nephews! We now have 15 with 2 in the womb! All of these minus Patrick will be coming to witness Hallel's final vows on August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary and another special decade of the rosary for my prayers for her... 4th Glorious for my 4th daughter! I guessdamate that I have prayed for her thousands of times on The Assumption - She is 32 years old x 52 weeks x 3 times a week and then 16 years ago to 2 times a week = 4,000+
How powerful does that make this occasion celebrated in France with 21 of our family on this Feast where I have lifted up Hallel in prayer for her lifetime? Priceless!!!
A picture of LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
"The world needs lights!" my husband Patrick at our engagement encounter when all the other couples said that the world was too terrible to bring a lot of children into. How do you chase away the darkness, by raising LIGHTS to the world!

They look like the Luminaries that they are!!!
The mountains melt like wax before the LORD,
before the LORD of all the earth.
The heavens proclaim his justice,
and all peoples see his glory.
R. The Lord is king, the Most High over all the earth.
You can imagine the huge smile that came across my face at finding this in the psalm for today at mass!!! That mountain will get to France and there will be nothing to it! Right? Jesus, we trust in you! Bless-bless, Barb
