Now St Clare joins us! "you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move.

Easter 2004 with Maria discerning her call to join the Poor Clares!  Our family numbered to 8 and Ruth was pregnant with Simon, our first grandchild!  We are now up to 26 with 2 additions in the womb, and 18 of us are leaving in 3 days for France to celebrate with Hallel as she takes her final vows!

Another huge Saint for our family... St Clare now is blessing us with glorious words on this her feast day today!  Maria chose St Clare as her patron as her feast is just 3 days from her birthday, and later she led Maria to consider a call to religious life as a cloistered Poor Clare.  She discerned out after 5 months and is now a wife and mother of 5, but we continue to ask the Poor Clares to pray for needs that come up... I should call them right now about Hallel!
I was out helping Pat today and my father called with some amazing words from the office today!
"Barbara, these were the words of comfort that spoke to me about your trip...'Keep me safe in your LOVE.'  You know that when I pray my rosary I pray for safety in travel and that is very much my prayer for your 18!"

O dad, how I lean on your prayers and find peace and comfort in that beautiful promise!  "Keep me safe in your LOVE!"  It certainly is true that Faith and Family LOVE are all around me and is what is allowing this mountain to move!  The Gospel blew me away today...
Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed,
you will say to this mountain,
'Move from here to there,' and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for you."  Matthew 14:20
I wonder if the sunflowers will be blooming in France?  There was an item on the news last evening about flooding in Southern France.  Lord, we trust in you.

I am just off the phone with our friends, The Poor Clare nuns in Saulk Rapids, MN.  Letting them know and asking for their prayers for our journey of moving our mountain called Family sharing Faith with JOY... 21 and just got word that a cousin from France will be coming as well!  That makes us number 22 there for Hallel!  Mother told me that they will be praying that each of our guardian angels be protecting us and "Ask our Lady to send the billions of angels around each of you and around your plane."  Talk about comforting and giving me total comfort and peace - "a billion angels around our plane!"  It is always such a blessing to speak with them.  We reminisced about it being 14 years since Maria was there with them, but they have fond and loving memories for Maria and us her family.

If ever you need prayers their number is 320-251-3556... They are prayer warriors!  As I was telling Mother about Susan/Hallel's times in Europe over the last 10 years..."Join the convent and see the world unless you are a cloistered Poor Clare nun... then you hear about the world."  "And our prayers stretch all around the world!"  Said Mother!  Yes!!
The French relatives that were there for Hallel's first vows along with Pat's 90 year old mother!  Lucy in the back row by Pat will be coming to support Hallel now for her final vows, too!!!  Talk about family the world over!

These words from St Clare herself today speak of the Faithfulness that Hallel is vowing to her Spouse, Jesus Christ!
But because one thing is necessary... I bear witness to that one thing and encourage you, for love of him to whom you have offered yourself as a holy and pleasing sacrifice... that you be always mindful of your resolution...

What you hold, may you always hold.  What you do may you always do and never abandon.  But with swift pace, light step, unswerving feet, so that even your steps stir up no dust, may you go forward securely, joyfully, and swiftly, on the path of prudent happiness, not believing anything, not agreeing with anything that would dissuade you  from this resolution or that would place a stumbling block for you on the way, so that you may offer your vows to the Most High in the pursuit of that perfection to which the Spirit of the Lord has called you.  St Clare (1250)
Busy days getting out of here... this look of peace and contentment is only a few days away now!
My view today... picking up bales as the baling goes right up to the wall of our leaving.  Lord, help all stay safe and sane and help the farm to give us a good send off.

Jesus how we love sharing our Faith as a family!  Joining with Hallel on her Big Day is huge and we trust in you.  Our Lady, send Billions of Angels to be all around us!  Amen and hallelujah
Thanks dad and mom for your prayers!  United with those of the Poor Clares and our friends and family we are moving this mountain - we have found the faith of a mustard seed!  "Nothing will be impossible for you."  Jesus tells me today in the Gospel and I give him all the control and Trust in him!  Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke

Happy Feast Day
Saint Clare of Assisi
1194-1253
Feast Day: August 11
Patronage: eye disease, goldsmiths, laundry, embroiderers, gilders

Saint Clare of Assisi, an Italian saint and one of the first followers of Saint Francis of Assisi, founded the Order of Poor Ladies, a monastic religious order for women in the Franciscan tradition, and wrote their Rule of Life—the first monastic rule known to have been written by a woman. Following her death, the order she founded was renamed in her honor as the Order of Saint Clare, commonly referred to today as the Poor Clares. In art, Clare is often shown carrying a monstrance or pyx, in commemoration of the time when she warded away the soldiers of Frederick II at the gates of her convent by displaying the Blessed Sacrament and kneeling in prayer.
