Hallel's joyful glowing face with the sunflower arrangement that was on the tree near her in the Green Cathedral... we were constantly adjusting where we stood on the hillside to see her in all the positions and meaningful moments of the 3 hour vows and mass!
On the ground with their arms out in the shape of the Cross!
Lord, i pray that you may protect your servants who commit themselves to serve you and who consecrate their lives to you. Protect their plan of virginity. I offer them to you as a sacerdotal gift; I entrust them to you with paternal affection. Grant them, in your kindness, the grace to awaken the Bridegroom in the courts of the celestial dwellings. May they deserve to see Him, may they be introduced to the bridal chamber of God, their King. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
(The celebrant prays this after the litany of the Saints while they are on the ground in the shape of the Cross!)
The virgin with her lamp lit...
Little sisters, keep you lamps burning. The Church entrusts you the prayer of the divine office by day and night; watch and pray for the world, consume your life for the Church and be in its midst a burning bush of charity.
The Gospel comes to life!!! Jesus in His Word is the heart and soul of Hallel's Community, who begin the night before making the Gospel come alive to them through the Holy Spirit!
Lord, protect and guide these servants of yours. At the judgment seat of your Son be yourself their great reward. Give them the joy of vows fulfilled. Made prefect in your love, may they rejoice in the communion of your saints and praise you for ever in their company. Through Christ our Lord.
The wedding feast on the hillside laid out for our JOY!
Our 5 earthly children united in France... our"fake plans" to all be with Hallel for her final vows happened with some tweaks like leaving the 7 youngest at home... thank you 3 sets of Grandparents!
Our 7 in heaven are always in my heart and are all around us on these monumentous occasions!
The solemn blessing at the end of mass is so true!
May you, who have devoutly gathered on this day, carry away with you the gifts of spiritual joys and heavenly rewards.
LOVE!!!
St Monica today and how I can relate to her tears as I cry happy and sad, and my children are well aware that mom's tears go with who I am! St Monica wept and prayed all tied into one big mission in her life's journey to get all her children, including wayward Augustine to heaven forever with her! I too feel that mission of prayer and tears, yet much like Augustine... my children now lead me deeper in faith and there is nothing better than that!
Now the wonderful spouses that have been a blessing to us and our children as we all share our Catholic Faith totally and without reservation... we all LOVE, love, love The Church and follow and believe all that we are given by The Church to help us get to heaven forever with Jesus, Mary and all the Saints, including St Monica and her son, St Augustine!
Ruth with her Paul
Nancy with her Billy
Maria with her Joseph
Hallel with her Jesus
John with his Bobbi!
Barb with her Patrick!
The 4 words from 2 Thessalonians today really speak of A mother's mission... "every effort of faith" which is what we are called to do... share our Faith with JOY and certainty!
In it's entirety!
"We always pray for you,
that our God may make you worthy of his calling
and powerfully bring to fulfillment every good purpose
and every effort of faith,
that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you,
and you in him,
in accord with the grace of our God and Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Thessalonians 1
Not quite complete... 19 with Hallel of our 26! It made our experience so rich to share it with our family in France and witness the beauty of Hallel's vow "I promise unto death!"
It made our own vows of marriage ring true in our hearts, minds and souls! Jesus, we love you with our lives and thank you for the companionship of our family on this journey of Faith/Family/Farm as we embrace our Most Cherished Cross and find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah!
The wedding feast of the Lamb! I looked around to see with my own eyes that we were sharing this most powerful moment in Hallel's life! The mountain had indeed moved when we asked it to and we had all safely and powerfully arrived in France, found our lodgings and driven down the narrow crazy roads in rural France! A miracle indeed and we share in her JOY!
I am so blessed to be her mother and her prayers and my prayers for her vocation has been a gift!!! She informed us that she will no longer be renewing her vows every other year... She has vowed unto death!!!
Behold the Lamb of God who reflects the Glory of the Father. Of the Glory of his most holy Passion, Light and prefect joy of our hearts! Hallelujah!

There our joy will be complete!

St. Monica was a mother who *knew* suffering. I find so much comfort in asking for her intercession and you should too. Please let me know how I can pray for you, friend.
St. Monica, Pray for us.

Are you concerned or fed up about scandals in the Church? Remember that even among the Apostles was the traitor Judas. You wouldn't leave Jesus because of Judas, would you? So keep the faith and don't leave Jesus's Church because of the actions of those who do not keep the Church's teachings. Remember for every Judas, there are 11 good Apostles.

The priesthood is shaken by the evil of some... we must pray for them without ceasing!

#SaintoftheDay St. Monica (322-387 A.D.) was raised in a Christian home in Tagaste, North Africa. Early in life she struggled with alcoholism, sneaking draughts of wine from the family cellar, before being caught and overcoming the habit. She was later given in marriage to an ill-tempered and adulterous pagan Roman official. She suffered greatly on account of her husband, and that of her unkind mother-in-law with whom she lived, and she fervently prayed for their conversion over the course of many years. Her patience and kindness became a source of encouragement to other unhappy housewives with whom she came in contact. Monica gave birth to three children, and she was grieved that her husband would not allow them to be baptized. Her eldest son, Augustine, was a wayward child and caused her the most pain, and she prayed fervently for decades for him to become a Christian. Through her persistence in prayer and good example, her husband was converted shortly before his death. When Augustine became entrenched in heretical sects and moved to Milan, St. Monica followed him. Monica befriended the Bishop of Milan, St. Ambrose, who consoled her by saying, "The child of those tears shall never perish." Augustine was eventually brought into the Church by St. Ambrose. Everything we know of St. Monica's heroic virtue is from the writings of her son, who became the great St. Augustine of Hippo, one of the most influential saints in Church history. St. Monica is patron of housewives, difficult marriages, alcoholism, mothers, widows, abuse victims, victims of adultery, and disappointing children. Her feast day is August 27th.
Powerful part of our family history!
