Grandma is loving quiet time after lunch! I just rocked Joy and read her two books and the other two are snug in bunk beds taking naps.. I am the nap whisperer for sure! This will still be short as my day is escaping and Pat and I could be on the road to KC tomorrow. Getting me there before the baby comes could be a challenge with the snow coming once again this next week!
Such powerful words at the end of Hebrews today in the first reading from St Paul, who had an encounter with Jesus on the road, and was filled with the Holy Spirit to carry forth to the Gentiles the Truth of Jesus! "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday (when he walked the earth for 33 years), today (when he struck me blind and healed me with His Holy Spirit which dwells within me), and forever (this day in which I find myself today and onwards forever and ever!)."
What can this promise us and mean for us? That His Spirit is at work within us and we too are to carry for the Good News to all we encounter.. most especially those in our domestic Church/family! That Jesus continues to heal and love and give without counting the cost if we allow Him to work within us! That He dwells within His Church and even with those bad and hard people and things that go on in The Church we are not called to abandon it, but hold fast to the Truth we are given through the wisdom of The Church.
Filled with The Spirit may we become more and more His and allow Jesus to live and work through us. We must start in our homes/domestic Church and there we are to give without counting the cost as Jesus told us to take up our Cross and follow after him! We are misunderstood and ridiculed for sharing the Truth, but we must not be silenced whether in word or in action.
I will end this for today with some of the beautiful words from the Psalm from mass today - Psalm 27
R. (1a) The Lord is my light and my salvation.
The LORD is my light and my salvation;
whom should I fear?
The LORD is my life's refuge;
of whom should I be afraid?
Your presence, O LORD, I seek.
