This is a spring like no other we can ever recall with so much wet weather that we can't get the crop planted! Pat is really down in the dumps about it. It is impossible to do anything about but pray!
Early bird Dave was up at 5:30a and noticed the cows and calves were out of the pasture. He helped Pat and I get them back in in the mud! Thanks, Farm boy Dave!
When we were in the light rain at 5:30a there was .2 inches of rain but by noon there was 1.4 inches! So much!
Then cook helper Dave helped grandma make breakfast... crescent rolls with butter and cinnamon sugar on top... a hit! Thanks again, David!
It was uplifting to see that there was an Hallel Psalm 149 today in mass! How we need to continually give Him Praise for all that comes our way... good and bad!
"Let them praise his name in the festive dance,
let them sing praise to him with timbrel and harp.
For the LORD loves his people,
and he adorns the lowly with victory.
R. The Lord takes delight in his people.
or:
R. Alleluia.
Let the faithful exult in glory;
let them sing for joy upon their couches.
Let the high praises of God be in their throats.
This is the glory of all his faithful. Alleluia.
R. The Lord takes delight in his people. "
Sharing yummy breakfast with a house full... baby George joins the kids listening to Catholic Sprouts podcast about righteous anger and wars today. I can be mad sometimes like Jesus was when the temple had been allowed to become a market place!
Fingers in mouth is a new experience, eh George? Grandpa got some smiles from our 3 month old grandson here for a month. I predict many snuggles with grandpa as the rain allows him to be around here more!
The Lord definitely loves his people and so we can trust in Him even in a year like this! His plan is hard to understand sometimes, but we know that we are cared for and he listens to our heartfelt prayers.
My rosary is calling to me after some good times with farmer hubby...
We had to walk through standing water, but there were teardrops mixed with the raindrops at the graveside of Pat's mom and dad and brother.
Miss my dear mother-in-law! She was such a huge part of our lives here for close to 40 years of our marriage! Of course, all of Pat's life up until 2 years ago. She was wonderful!
Our two boys buried in the Catholic cemetery.
All was wet including the stone for 20 week Maximilian - our grandson in the infant loss section of the cemetery.
Jesus, a day of rain once again that is keeping us very close and homebound today. May we please get the warmth and sunshine we need to plant our crop. We depend upon your LOVE for us your people. Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barb

The Gospel continues in John 15 today..
Jesus said to his disciples:
"When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father,
the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father,
he will testify to me.
And you also testify,
because you have been with me from the beginning..."
