The Church in the heart of our Family/"The gates of Hell will not prevail against it" Matt 16:18

My heart swells with great love as I sit before Jesus in prayer!  The best hour of my week!

It was especially sweet to have the lovely mother Mary, and child so close to Jesus in the monstrance thanks to May crowning on the occasion  of First Communion last weekend.

All the ways that Mary is instrumental in her "yes" bringing God into the world in flesh, and her standing at the foot of the Cross after his years of ministry begun by her reminding him that "they are out of wine" at the wedding of Cana, and He then gave her to us as our Mother to bring into our homes... at the foot of that cross/our Salvation and reminder of how we are asked to follow him by taking up/dragging our own cross!
On this Vigil of Mother's day and each Saturday that is devoted to Mary the Mother of God and our Spiritual Mother... so much beauty and LOVE are gifted to us!

It is always a gift to be at my parents on Friday as there is Adoration going on across the river in their little beautiful Catholic Church, and I can pray there for my priest friend as I am a very blessed member of 7 Sisters, who cover each day of prayer for our priests.  How we love our priests that give us the gift of Jesus in His Body and Blood each and every day!
The ferns unrolling by mom's Mary statue in the wonderful warm sun we are being blessed with these last 2 days!  Thank you, Lord!

John 6 continues today with Jesus..."The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and life."  What Words?  That He is feeding the believers his Body and Blood beginning with the first Pope Peter of His Bride, The Church, and through the centuries.  Satan truly is attacking the young men called to be His priests and continue giving us the life-giving Eucharist, so many prayers for them to answer with a resounding "Yes!" to his call to them.

Yes, our beloved Church which I love, love, love has a checkered past, but as my mother reminds me and our family...
Jesus to St Peter..."And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and
the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."  Matthew 16:18

I see the young Catholic families who have a deep prayer life together sharing their faith with JOY!  And men, and women, who are saying "yes" to His Call to the priesthood and religious LIFE.  I see with my own eyes, and heart, and mind, and soul that Jesus speaks to us the words of Spirit and LIFE in His Word and Sacraments,  and the gates of hell truly shall not prevail against His Bride, The Church!
Dad ducking out of the sun shining in his eyes... we aren't complaining as we love to see the sun and hopes of Spring!

So much in the reading from Acts today.... Peter heals a paralytic confined to bed for 8 years and in an instant he gets out of bed, healed, and makes his bed!  All in that town believe in Jesus as a result!  Then in the next town he raises a holy woman from the dead!  Dorcus took his hand and sat up... brought back to life, a life she had spent doing good for others could continue and her example brought many in that town to faith!  What a shining symbol of Faith to see this woman doing her good once again raised from death!

How I pray for those in my life that are dead to knowing Our Lord and His glorious Bride, The
Church, that they may come to know and love and find a small slice of heaven here on earth... how the circle of love and faith would spread.

John is an example of this!  He found Faith through brain cancer, which was life-threatening, yet he survived and burns to share his story far and wide!  HIs story has touched many and shown the power of prayer and coming to the True Faith, if only we ask of him!
Finding Faith through brain cancer!
2 year old Joy and baby chick!

Jesus, how we love and adore you and are given all the fruits of the Spirit if only we give all control to you and follow what you teach us along with your wisdom and Truth from your Bride, The Church!  We long to be more and more yours and to die to self so that you Holy Spirit may dwell in us and we man become his hands and feet and share your Truth in Word and deed.  Jesus, we pray for our beloved Church... knowing that it all takes root and grows to give 100 fold in fruit within our domestic Church/family.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Mom and I planted her Mother's Day gift from her daughter-in-law, Angela, on this Saturday devoted to Our Lady...Our Lady's Flowers/Marigolds!!  I am the luckiest daughter to have these wonderful days with both my parents in their own home!  Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke

I loved you from the moment we first locked eyes and you are never far from my heart. I am so proud of you and I want only the best for you. I will always treasure every moment we share, and most importantly, I will always love you. Always!'

Mom time supreme planting her flowers just ahead of the rain in the wonderful warm spring day!

With her green thumb I will come up here next time to bountiful blooms!  Happy Mother's Day, Mom, I love you so much!  You and dad brought us against the tide into The Church in 1971!  Each day since has been so full of LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
