Summer shaping up... together at last!!! Remain in my love!/JOY!/Mary in our homes!!!!

Simon 8 years ago at his kindergarten graduation!
How can it be?  Now 8 years later at Kindergarten graduation!  He will graduate from HRS tonight!
How grandpa finds JOY as he gets such wonderful hugs and smiles from his 2 year old granddaughter, Joy!  He marvels that she so lives up to her name.  It is true that I have a hard time finding fault with her 2 year old antics ever!  Telling her "no" as she ran through my dirt while sweeping the kitchen just seemed harsh and wrong.

Joy arrived with brother Luke this morning while mom got took one of Simon's final steps at Holy Redeemer School!  Kindergarten graduation!  The 8th grade parents stand in the back and grab some pictures.  We are all kind of emotional at this end of his time at HRS... Ruth was my oldest and went off to the high school to blaze the trails for her younger siblings, and now her oldest, Simon is going forth.  Simon has an added dimension of Autism to bring to his table, so we pray and love him and support him.  John today wished him good friends and finding some good things to get involved in.  Hear our prayer, O Lord!
Such a wonderful grown up young man!  Ruth is talking about recreating the picture with his siblings on the steps in the school tonight...."With a lot more siblings!"  LOVE that Simon has many behind him to lead with Faith/Family/Farm down the narrow path!
Maria shared this stretching picture of 2 1/2 month old Hector this morning after sleeping all night for the first time!  This is about the same time that George suddenly started to sleep all night about 3 weeks ago for Nancy.  It is so interesting to compare the 3 boys that are within 6 weeks!

"Boy it feels good to sleep all night mom!  Are you happy as I am?"  "Yes, I am!"

The time we would gather together for prayer while I was there for 2 weeks when Hector arrived were super wonderful...

Our Spiritual Mother, Mary the Mother of God in our homes is the very best!  Imagine the LOVE and PEACE and JOY that we gain through her intercession to her Son as we meditate upon the mysteries of how Jesus came into the world through her "Yes!" and then worked his first miracle at her encouragement..."They are out of wine, and do whatever he tells you to."  And stood at the foot of the Cross where he gave her to us as our Mother to bring into our homes!

The rosary is so important and powerful for our domestic Church/family!  Pat and I shared the rosary on our travels to see my parents less than a week ago!  LOVE!

Learning to pray from his big brother and siblings!

The tickets have been bought!!!  Maria will be arriving in Minnesota on June 18th in the afternoon with her 6 kids from Washington.  She has her kids so disciplined that she describes flying with 6 including a 2 1/2 month old... "an exciting adventure/vacation."  They each help with a backpack and march through the airport like soldier children!  She will have the baby in a sling and they will then arrive in the Cities, and have fake plans to head to Kansas City to see Hallel that night! Out of this world Family Time!!!

How exciting and I am filled with so much gratitude that this is working out for our entire family, including Susan to meet a niece and nephew she has not met yet, to get together the best way we can!  All 18 grandkids on the farm after we get back from TEC weekend and Maria back from KC and then Wisconsin to see Joe's parents!  About a week together on the farm!!!

Praying on his fingers... well, discovering them and sucking on them... Those look like big grandpa Pat fingers and hands.  Hector will be meeting his wonderful grandpa for the first time, too!  Actually I am the only one in the family that has met and held this sweet boy!  He will be getting lots of hugs and kisses soon!

Mary statues that David and Therese were gifted for memorizing all their prayers for CCD...

"And, the CCD year has come to an end.

Both T and D memorized all of their prayers,

so they each got to pick out a beautiful Marian statue at the church!

D picked OL of Lourdes. T picked OL of Medjugorje"
Maria
Grandpa can't wait to see these two!  All 6 kids will get the grandpa hugs for sure, but these two are on the top of the list!

The entire Gospel today is amazing and how we experience this Truth in our domestic Church/family!
Jesus said to his disciples:
"As the Father loves me, so I also love you.
Remain in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father's commandments
and remain in his love.

"I have told you this so that
my joy might be in you and

your joy might be complete."
John 15

Oh Lord, what JOY we have when we look to all you give us each day... Jesus, Mary, the Saints and your Bride, The Church...fill each day with much more than we can ever embrace... overwhelmed by your LOVE for us!  May we return that love and forgiveness and mercy to those the closest to us in our domestic Church/family.  May we give without counting the cost. Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb
" I am so rested after sleeping all night, that I want to sit up on my own for the first time today, too!"
Oh Hector!  You are delightful, and we are so excited to meet you soon and get the 3 new boys together at last!  Maybe rather than lay side by side on the blanket... you will sit shoulder to shoulder?!?  A grandma with her fake plans for too many pictures!
Luke waiting for Dominic to come tomorrow to ride bikes with him.  Please Lord send warm drying sunshine for the farmers and for the kids!
Congraduations Simon... spelling it the way Ruth did for her graduation banner!  Your bright future in high school lies ahead!
Jesus over his shoulder and a Nabor girl by the hand...
A prayer for you and all my grandchildren - LIGHTS for the world!
Dear Jesus,
help me to spread Your fragrance wherever I go.
Flood my soul with Your spirit and life.
Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly,
that my life may only be a radiance of Yours.
Shine through me and be so in me
that every soul I come in contact with
may feel Your presence in my soul.

Let them look up and see no longer me, but only Jesus!
Stay with me and then I will begin to shine as You shine,
so to shine as to be a light to others.

The light, O Jesus, will be all from You; none of it will be mine.
It will be You, shining on others through me.
Let me thus praise You in the way which You love best,
by shining on those around me.
Let me preach You without preaching,
not by words but by example, by the catching force,
the sympathetic influence of what I do,
the evident fullness of the love my heart bears for You.  Amen.

Prayer of Bl John Henry Cardinal Newman (+1890)
Canonization of Bl John Cardinal Newman is anticipated... date to be announced
