Josephine is having a day of specialness as it is her patron Saint feast day and how we love Josephine Bahkita! Mom will be getting her a happy meal at MacDonalds to celebrate her today. She will have a carload along with her, too!
St. Josephine spent hours in Eucharistic Adoration and,
when one Sister asked if it tired her, she said,
"Not at all! I have been having a
wonderful time with Him.
He has waited so long for me."...
"Our Lord has always been so good to me ...
If I were to stay on my knees for my entire life,
I still would not be able to
express my gratitude sufficiently."
St Josephine Bakhita
Sudan/Italy ~ 1869-1947
Religious (Canossian Daughters of Charity)
Pope Benedict XVI, on 30 November 2007, in the beginning of his
second encyclical letter Spe Salvi (In Hope We Were Saved),
relates her entire life story as an outstanding example of the Christian hope.
Feast Day - Feb 8
St Josephine was known for her smile, gentleness and holiness.
She even went on record saying, “If I were to meet the slave-traders
who kidnapped me and even those who tortured me,
I would kneel and kiss their hands, for if that did not happen,
I would not be a Christian and Religious today.”
St Josephine Bakhita, pray for us!
How we love to have the Saints, Angels, Mary and Jesus with us on this journey! We love The Church and how we are blessed with so much with each new day!
She has the curls like her mom, just lighter hair color! She is a big sister to George, and little sister to Gus and Bernadette.
Mom's brown eyes and complexion...
This morning we read that Josephine means "fortunate one" in Arabic, and JoJo certainly will be blessed in her life by having St Josephine Bahkita to look up to and help her down the narrow path.
My companion yesterday was JOYbeam!
Joy and the kitty...

From Nancy today;
Happy feast day to my Josephine!!! We are happily spending the weekend at my parents and grandma has watercolor class in session. JoJo is happily coloring a portrait on her and her 3 baby cousins, with a small (green) statue of her patron up on the shelf behind her.
St Josephine Bakhita, pray for us!

Our painting of Joy with George and Jude...Will be watercoloring soon with the kids as that is part of being at grandma's house. Also lots of time in the hot tub - using all our hot water!
To of the 3 together! George will be 1 in a week and Jude will be 6 weeks behind him! John is greeted by his two Goddaughters, Joy and JoJo.
Photo bomb Bernadette and boys not so much... on the move!
Nancy and Bobbi catching up.
Out of the hot tub with grandpa before we had prayer time and night cap before bed!
Gathered for a decade of the rosary, reading the Gospel from tomorrow and the kids shared what they heard... Bernadette; "Jesus is our shepherd and we are the lost sheep"
Rose; "Jesus got on a boat and went to a deserted place."
Luke; "They didn't eat for a long time!"
The Apostles gathered together with Jesus
and reported all they had done and taught.
He said to them,
“Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.”
People were coming and going in great numbers,
and they had no opportunity even to eat.
So they went off in the boat by themselves to a deserted place.
People saw them leaving and many came to know about it.
They hastened there on foot from all the towns
and arrived at the place before them.
and reported all they had done and taught.
When Jesus disembarked and saw the vast crowd,
his heart was moved with pity for them,
for they were like sheep without a shepherd;
and he began to teach them many things.
Mark 6 - see what you can find in this great Gospel! It made me smile to hear how the kids truly listened and heard somethings that I missed! his heart was moved with pity for them,
for they were like sheep without a shepherd;
and he began to teach them many things.
Sharing our Faith as a family! LOVE this!
Popcorn and grandpa's diet pop... grandpa is famous for is "nightcap" before bed.
Letting the kids know that they are special and loved in the grandpa way!
"We are special!"
Berna painting her 3 baby boy cousins.
Dominic entertaining the group...
Joy and Josephine are hanging out now... soon the 3 baby boys will be painting with grandma watercolor school.
Soon they vanished under many layers of paint... grandma, grandpa, Joy, Josephine, Jude, George, and Hector along with a puppy and a kitty. How she giggled when grandma was drawing her picture.
Blue puppy soon...
Big blue circle covered her picture and she thought it was beautiful.
Jesus, thank you for the way children see you with pure and innocent eyes. May we be more like innocent loving children when we come to you. Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barb
